He evidently thinks he can pretty much do whatever he wants in a Trump 2.0 administration. Nowadays Donald is mostly interested in playing golf, watching TV and settling petty scores with his “enemies”; he will outsource all actual governing to Musk, making him a de-facto President.
At least, that’s what Musk is thinking, according to some sources I’ve read. Who knows which of these men is actually being taken for a ride.
Once Trump gets what he wants (hopefully not), he'll screw over Musk like he has done to every other fucker he's taken advantage of. And it couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.
Meanwhile, Trump had a "town hall" style event in Pennsylvania, took only 4 or 5 questions and then abruptly announced that instead of more questions they will just listen to music and had them play 30 minutes worth of songs, while standing on the stage and dancing awkwardly. No one in his entourage was sure what to do, so they tried to sort dance with him. Weird doesn't even begin to describe it:

If anyone doesn’t know, the woman trying to copy moves next to him is North Dakota governor Kristi Noem. She REALLY wanted to be Donald’s VP, so she changed her make-up and hairstyle to look more like Ivanka (i.e. Donald’s type) and released a book touting her willingness to do anything for the party, even if it’s tough and dirty, which included a story about how she shot her own dog because it was misbehaving. That landed her in some hot water and she was eventually overlooked for the VP, but now Trump seems to like having her around again.

Well, the presidency didn't save JFK when he got to the White House and turned on the Mob, who were largely responsible for putting him there. Whether Musk would go about things in the same way I don't know, but I would emphatically not want to make an enemy of the guy.

What was the mob issue with JFK (genuine question!)? Was it connected to the CIA and what ultimately happened?
I had heard this as well but I always thought it was one of the many theories that have evidence supporting them but haven't been proven.
Personally my own favourite theory is the one in Red Dwarf.
The whole JFK history is still controversial and probably will be for some time yet, but I've read and been convinced by the work of an American investigative journo called Lamar Waldron who IMO has nailed the story down. The following is a quick summary.
JFK won the presidency by an absolutely tiny margin - just a hundred thousand votes or so across the whole of the United States electorate. The difference is usually attributed to a number of electoral wards in Chicago which JFK's dad (a very shady character indeed) asked the Mob to fix for him. They did so and will have thought they now had their own man in the White House as a result. Instead, when JFK got there he appointed his bro Robert as Attorney-General and the pair of them mounted a crusade against organised crime. That will have been seen by the Mob as a double-cross, and you don't do that to the Mob and expect to live for long afterwards.
There are indeed a number of possible CIA connections. Kennedy had antagonised the Agency already and said he was looking into disbanding it, which some even think made them the prime movers in his assassination. Waldron doesn't take that view but does think the Mob had help from rogue CIA officers and others in government with organising the plot and then covering it up. The Mob would have had a hold on the CIA because they were collaborating on a plot/plots to get rid of Castro in Cuba.
Another pointer to Mob involvement is the fact that the hit is generally thought to have been carried out by a contract team imported from France with the help of the French Connection drug trade. When the Mob arranged murders within the US they always brought an out-of-town hit man/team in to do the job, for security reasons. Taking the same approach to going after the Head of State would have to mean bringing the killers in from abroad.

Seems pretty ham-fisted. Would be funny is the Postal service mixed them up and accidentally delivered the pro-Israel mailers to the Jews and the pro-Palestine ones to the Muslims.

I think Musk is almost certainly doing some illegal shit in this campaign - he’s burning the bridges basically. But this particular thing is probably not illegal, thanks to the Supreme Court.
