Big D vs Twitter

Isn’t it partly to do with campaign financing laws in the US, in that the fuck tonne of money Biden has pulled together for the Presidential race needs at least one of him or Harris on the ballot paper to be accessed - otherwise they’re starting from scratch.

Be interesting who her running mate is if she does get nominated.

The trouble is Trump lies so freely and easily that he’s practically impossible to manage in a debate - and if the lying fails he just shouts over the top if you.

That saying - he might run in to bother if he doesn’t tone down the personal attacks he loves.

She's really not been a great VP - she comes off rather poor in her public performances ...
I guess time will tell whether you're right or I'm right - I just hope she stops with that stupid slogan.

I know, but I think she will bring out the worst in Trump and that is something his campaign dosent need. He’s an unlikeable person and it will be difficult for him to stay on the right track going forward. That will work in her favor.
She can also do well with a lot of the swing votes.

Will it be enough? God knows. But Trump might trip over his own cuntishness now.

Ok - I see the angle you're taking. Interesting ... If it happens that way, touche!

It will interesting to see how many votes he still gets after he uses a racial slur while talking about her.

Let's be honest. In any European country the Democrats would be viewed as centre right (conservatives) and Republicans would be viewed as the far right (BNP).
Except, again that is a false, and hate-mongering depiction. Fascism and BNP imply anti-semitism and general racism. It is an attempt to ally your political opponents with something unacceptable, to ensure a continuing one-party system.

It's not a deliberate attempt. If you go back 50 years, the news was a semi-intelligent stream of what was going on in the world and the economy, so when voters fill their brain with that, that's what they use to make their political choice. If you look now, the news is feeding simplistic garbage about racism and feelings into their brains, so that's now the information today's voter uses to make their political choice.

What may have changed is these low thinking voters now also have a stream of additional information, being sent to them every month by their landlord, their energy supplier, their credit card provider, their tax advisor, all these additional bits of information must sting, unrelenting, one hit after another for the last three years. Having endured those hits, if they go to the polling booth and still take a knee for social justice, for inclusion and diversity, or the climate, or whatever, I think you have to just respect their willingness to sacrifice their lives so that you and I don't have to.

I thought Newsom was the favourite? [edit: he's endorsed Kamala]

Kamala was so bad solo she never even made it to the primaries 4 years ago
If a woman can sleep her way to the top and is only one step away from being president, then she's certainly no light-weight. The MAGA faithful and Trump will play her like how he was played and will attack her relentlessly on her past. Trump's cybertroopers have begun firing shots even before Biden's announcement was made, and already spamming social media platforms. But in today's politics, who cares about morals anyway, right ?

She may not have the charisma or strong history of policy-making, but she has the very sizeable Democrat warchest, as well as a growing support of large corporation titans. But then Trump has Elon and Blackrock. Those 2 moguls are enough to win you everything.

'First black woman president in US history' sure does appeal to every leftist out there though.

Trump and Larry Fink are like besties.

Larry might even end up being treasury secretary if Trump wins. Imagine the power that would yield, as if Blackrock does not already own almost everything in this world.

It is interesting how the cult can have all these beliefs that are the opposite of what Trump actually does.

What does he actually do then ? Please enlighten us.

And btw, it's not insider knowledge, cos its all over the news, left or right. They've known each other for years. Not a secret either.

Are BlackRock not going down the route of thinking about the environment these days? Trump isn't into that stuff. Even though his beloved maralago is fucked.

2021 - Trump hates bitcoin. Thinks its a scam.
2024 - Trump says he'll be the first 'bitcoin president'. Even promotes his own NFT.

2023 - Biden and his chum, Gary Geinsler go on a war against crypto
2024 - Biden softens stance against crypto

Politicians will support whatever wins them the most votes.

Part 1
Here is a contrary opinion on the emergence of Silicon Valley support for former President Trump. Which like all my opinions on here, probably won’t be popular.

It’s a bitcoin play.

Not because the former President is a far stronger proponent of crypto. That’s nice. But doesn’t really impact the price of crypto. It makes it easier to operate a crypto business because of the inevitable, and required, changes at the SEC

What will drive the price of BTC is lower tax rates and tariffs, which if history is any guide (and it’s not always ), will be inflationary.

Combine that with global uncertainty as to the geopolitical role of the USA, and the impact on the US Dollar as a reserve currency, and you can’t align the stars any better for a BTC price acceleration.

Part 2
How high can the price go. Way higher than you think. Remember, the market for BTC is global. And the supply has a final limit of 21m BTC, with unlimited fractionalization.

Keep that in mind as you consider what happens if because of geopolitical uncertainty and the decline of the dollar as the reserve currency, BTC becomes a “safe haven” globally. Which means that BTC could be what countries and all of us look to buy as a means to protect our savings.

Crazy ? It already happens in countries facing hyperinflation.

And if things really go further than we can imagine today (and I’m not saying they will. Just that this has a possibility somewhere above zero) , then BTC becomes exactly what the Maxis envision. A global currency.

==========

In other words the play is to destroy/weaken the dollar in order to make crypto more valuable. I don’t think that’s the whole plan, but it could well be part of the plan.
