He is not physically slower, but seems mentally slower and is first touch is pretty horrible which also slows things down.Has anyone seen if sturridge is sturrdige mkII ...
In the same way as Torres came back as Torres mkII
Just wondering...
Didn't see last nights game as it was on at 4am but I'm wondering if he's just rusty or actually slower...
Both Coutihno and Sturridge need to simplify their games. Too many touches, too often. If they would move the ball quicker, then defenders would shift and try to fill the passing lanes and that will open the space for the dribble. But, if you don't pass it enough, you lose the privilege of space for dribbling.
Sometimes they get away with it, which unfortunately only encourages more bad behavior.

Those two things should improve with time.
I've only seen Ibe live once and it was a sh*tty pre season game last summer but I really thought he was going to be a star.
So much so he was the first player on my fantasy team.
Hopefully now he finally gets the run he needs to ignite his Liverpool career.
I thought at the time he could be better than Sterling and he's starting to perhaps show why I thought that.
John Barnes of courseIt occurred to me watching Ibe bulldoze his way past Motta a couple times that it's quite unusual for a winger like Ibe to have the physique he does. Can anyone think of a good player to compare him to?
I like how Rodgers is managing Lovren at the moment; bringing him on as a sub in a few games eases him into an already-established setup, while also making sure he gets minutes to shake off some rust and also not get too disgruntled. I also think Rodgers handled this game well in the second half, sticking with three at the back to make sure we stayed solid defensively. Even though Besiktas wasn't attacking much, it was important we didn't concede an away goal by being overzealous in trying to score, so I think he did well in not taking a risk there.
Yes I like it too. Isnt that two bookings in two sub appearance?
Exactly. I'd prefer him to be managed differently and kept away until he learns that he has to work at this game continuously. He acted like he'd made it when he got here.Lovren? I think 2 in 4 sub appearances since January (2 in about 7 since being relegated to the bench). He picked up a card each against Sunderland and Besiktas - both within 5 to 10 minutes of logging in. 😀

I love Sakho's incisive forward passes into midfield. He always tries to move it forward and seems to avoid playing it to Mingolet at all costs. I think this has caught him out a few times. He really rates his strength as an asset and often tries to use it spin his man. He has made the LCB position his own.
Leto?
Good shout, he was pretty big for a winger. Pity he never reached his potential

Leto had no real pace though. More of a Solari.
