Isn't it?

I'm very unaccustomed to actually wanting any of our subs to come on. It used to mean a good or acceptable player being replaced by a shit one, but today I was really looking forward to seeing our subs, and we still have Lallana to come in. Is this what having a squad feels like?

Yep.
Markovic
Lambert
Kolo
Lucas
Suso
Enrique
Johnson
Borini
Can
Skrtel
Flanagan
All not in the starting 11.
Decent

Yep, it really sets the benchmark for the season.

I really like the prospect of bringing Markovic on. He impressed me in his two sub appearances and I think it's only a matter of time before he makes it into the first 11 rotation, and gets to start games.

Markovic was a lot quieter this time than vs City, wasn't he? Maybe Rodgers gave him instructions just to keep the ball.

He came on at 3:0 and did a great job keeping the ball, as well as breaking forward, and giving Sterling, Sturridge and others options for a pass.
He also tracked back and didn't back off of challenges.
All in all, I have high hopes of this lad.

It was a lot more like what we can expect from him at Anfield than a typical away game performance, which bodes well cos he held his own.

Had this discussion with a few of my mates yesterday. Looking at our bench and comparing it to last season is chalk and cheese. We have quality throughout the squad. This team can go on to achieve great things.

Murphy's Law. What's the chances of ous winning the League now that Suarez has left? I remember Owen leaving for Real and then we promptly won the CL. That would be ace.

That's not Murphy's Law.

Murphy's Law is doing nothing but giving the ball away for 89 mins then scoring against Utd.

Rodgers defo gave him instructions to assist Manquillo and it definitely worked.

He loves to keep his attacking players disciplined!

Our theoretical "2nd Eleven" based on yesterday's team selection is...............

...................................Jones..................................
Flanagan.............Skrtel............Toure................Enrique
Markovic...........Can............Coutinho............Lallana
..........................Lambert......Borini.................................

And then there's also Suso, Glenjo and Lucas!

Even allowing for the fact that we'll sell a few of these players today, our strength in depth is gonna make us a serious threat on all fronts this season.

I would chuck in Rossiter and Wilson.

That's me - I pinched and adulterated it because it was what I thinking about posting at the time - saves me having to click all those damn lines and write all the names out again (wasn't quite the same anyway) !

Thanks Pesam for saving me the time !
