Apparently FIFA have just handed Barca a two window transfer ban for transfer breaches related to under 18 player. Will this one get overturned like the Chelsea one though?

Just heard that.

Massive news if true. We won't be getting that young winger we're after from them that's for sure!

Indeed, that was completely out of the blue, I'm shocked that FIFA have grown some bollocks and gone for one of the two golden children. The offences must be pretty serious.

Does a ban mean no out-traffic too? E.g. also preventing them from receiving transfer fees?

Wouldn't imagine so but they'd be reluctant to part with anyone if they can't bring in replacements.

Hahahaha they're stuck with Pinto for another season if Valdes is still fucking off then

No they're not - they've supposedly agreed to a fee with Ter Stegen (as with Halilovic), so that will be allowed to go through.

They have a great youth set up (Rafinha, Defelou etc) - they'll be fine ...

I guess buying players is something else but selling players for players like Pyuol who want to leave is very counter productive surely?
I don't think it's fair on the player especially if the aren't playing and then have to stay for a year because of the ban. Or does the transfer ban only apply for incoming transfers?

Wait, is it a ban on all transfers or just transfers of players under the age of 18? If all players then it's definitely a LOL.

Ter Stegen can agree move but he can't register with them I presume so he'll have to stay in Germany for another season.

However as others have said, it'll be overturned or suspended anyway.

Its apparantly for 10 players under 18 and multiple breaches. So its a bit more serious than Chelseas Kakuta case were they settled for a fee and Lens dropped their charges.

Their squeaky clean image has taken an absolute hammering this year. "Mes que un club" indeed.

They're definitely in the shit goalkeeper wise if this is help up and Valdes leaves. Ouch.

i used to love watching barca back in the day .... romario, laudrup , stoichkov etc blew my mind . So i was really looking forward to a visit to the nou camp a few yrs ago. I did the tour and saw a great match ..5-2 v A.Madrid . But there was something about the whole thing that i didn't like . I can't fully put my finger on it , i guess it was the arrogance of them , the "more than a club" bullshit . And i just hate how they are the pinnacle , that every player should want to play for them and if they want your player you should bend over and happily take it . Not to sell to them is denying a player their human rights .

So fuck the cunts , i hope this stands . And in the interest of fairness , fuck real madrid...those fuckwits are as bad .

Think Ter Stegen will be allowed to join them

It will get overturned on appeal. Suspended or whatever.

Exactly.

Fifa are a farce.

This was my immediate reaction as well but apparently SER radio in Spain is saying FIFA confirmed to them that Barcelona's punishment is irrevocable and unappealable. No doubt if it's true or not. Here is the article.

And the English translation:

-------
FIFA has imposed a penalty on the violation of Barça "provisions relating to the transfer and registration of the first minor foreign nationals in the club" and has imposed a sanction for which will not sign until the summer of 2015 in addition to a fine 370,000 euros.

FIFA has assured the SER that this sanction will remain although regularized by the signings he has been punished . So the penalty for not signing during the next two transfer periods (summer 2014 and winter 2015) is irrevocable .

"Research dealt with ten children enrolled in the club who participated in tournaments with the team for several seasons between 2009 and 2013, "said FIFA in a statement. During this period Laporta and Sandro Rosell chaired the Catalan club.

These actions of the Catalan club are "grave breaches" that caused the double penalty, and the obligation to "regularize the situation of children affected all players" within 90 days.

"The Disciplinary Commission is aware that, without proper controls, young players may be vulnerable to exploitation and abuse in a foreign country. For this reason, the governing bodies of sport and, in particular, FIFA, considered even more important protection of minors in football, "he explains.

"Above all, the commission stressed that while in individual cases an international transfer can boost the career of a young player, it is likely that this practice harms the child . Based on this analysis, the committee decided that the interest of ensuring the proper and healthy development of a child in all aspects of his life prevails over the purely sporting interests, "said FIFA.

Moreover, the Disciplinary Committee has determined that "l to RFEF also violated Article 19 and other provisions concerning the transfer and registration of the first minor. " Therefore, he has decided to impose one Spanish federation fined 500,000 Swiss francs (410.00 euros) and has been granted a period of one year to amend its regulatory framework and transfer system under force.

But that's limited to appeals within FIFA's disciplinary system though. They could possibly take it to the Court of Arbitration for Sport I suppose, if they can find the grounds for objecting to either FIFA's determination of their violations, or the penalty handled down by FIFA.
