Bad Klopp

I'm not liking this thread.

Mainly because how in the fuck did you pass up the opportunity to call it "Good Klopp, Bad Klopp"

*shakes head in disbelief*

I thought about it, but decided against it since in fact it's dedicated exclusively to Bad Klopp 🙂. Now that I think about it, maybe it would have made a bit of sense after all. Mods, you can change it if you like.

What sort of a negative cunt would start a thread like this? He's only in the job 5 fucking minutes, with no players to work with. How could you expect it to be plain sailing? Surely he's at least entitled to a transfer window or 2 before any criticism?

I'm not sure I would have started the thread, but discussing anything you want about LFC is what a Forum like this is supposed to be about. If you view it like a "first impressions" then fine.

I can't be bothered myself

It baffles me. When Rodgers left the club it was down to a level where the likes of Alan Pardew might have been thought beyond it, and, somehow, it gets Klopp. That's the most incredible stroke of good luck in decades. And someone, after a few months, thinks it's high time to start slagging him off. Utterly deluded.

I think getting Benitez in as manager was an equally huge coup, although we are arguably in worse shape from a squad POV.

The affinity and aligned stars with Klopp (his affection for Liverpool has long been obvious) meant that he'd been linked as a possible future manager for ages, and our history, brand and reputation certainly helped, but it is still pretty impressive that he is our manager. Perhaps we were fortunate with some timings (his sabbatical, Bayern/ Chelsea/ City job changes etc etc) but it's just great that he actually is.

Reactions: mom
The only small criticism I have of him is that our results aren't exactly picking up since he's come in. But obviously we've got to give him a chance to get some of his own players in, ship out some of the shit, and get them drilled how he wants to play. Apart from that I can't see what there's not to like, he's a good guy, wants us to play good football, respectful of the club, talks sense.

It just seems that 6CM is always looking for things to moan about. We have enough to moan about without trying to conjure up more.

Surely there's a difference between constructive criticism and criticising for the sake of it. It's not easy coming in mid season to a league where you won't be too familiar with other teams (opposition playing style, opposition players strengths and weaknesses) as well as dealing with a ridiculous amount of games in a short period. I think the media responsibilities have surprised him as well. Maybe the German media aren't as demanding as ours.
He's doing pretty well considering this season could almost have been written off as he's coping with another managers team.

Jesus. I thought some of the earlier criticism of this thread was harsh but this is really overboard.

I could understand this reaction if someone like Arn had started this thread, but rurik consistently tries to start reasoned and thoughtful discussion on this site. He could hardly ever be labelled as negative, and much less a cunt.

Some of you need to calm the fuck down.

.

The thread is called 'Bad Klopp' and it invites negative comments. That's negative. Not even Rodgers would have got that after just reaching a final. Calm the fuck down indeed. If the OP was bored he could have read a newspaper instead of starting this shite.

Ludicrous post

I want him to be big bad Klopp, the heavy metal, head-banging, fuck-the-establishment figurehead of our club. Rodgers was way too nice & passive, we have a bit of passion and character about the place again and everyone's talking about us now. He slays the media and his press conferences are hilarious, pure entertainment.

With all our injuries and inherited under-performers, if he can get this rag tag bunch of losers into a final after his first 4 months then it should be major exciting over the next few years

Mourinho used Robert Huth in this way against us a few times but to no effect. I think that we laughed at him then as he had other offensive options to make a difference but instead resorted to lumping it forward. Klopp hasn't had many other options as so many of our strikers have been injured and like other posters have mentioned it's worked quite well.

As I said in another thread talking about this, the first time Mourinho used Huth upfront, he had 5 strikers and 3 of them were injured. Sound familiar?

Drogba, Mutu and Carlton Cole were injured.

Kezman and Gujohnssen were fit.

So fair enough with what he did, and fair enough with Klopp doing it too.

Mourinho also did it against us in the Champions League semi final 2nd leg at Anfield (2005) and when he brought Huth on he still had a striker on the bench in Mikkel Forrsell and Drogba, Kezman and Gudjohnssen were already on the pitch.

I know but he obviously got a taste for it from the first time he did it. It worked.

Who is to say Klopp wont do the same in future?

I've got no problem with anyone doing it by the way, I just don't get people laughing at Mourinho doing it, then when Klopp does it, its OK. We shall see what happens in the future eh?

But i wanted to hear from those who criticised Mourinho for it. But i know we wont

Ah lads, who cares at the end of the day? Jeering the decision to bring on Huth at the time was just something to throw at Mourinho. Petty point scoring at the time due to a communal dislike of Mourinho. It was probably to accuse him of being anti football and using bully boy tactics at the time. Football fans are often guilty of hypocrisy and we move the goal posts at various times to suit us. We've thrown Skrtel up front towards the end of games in the past as a last role of the dice. All managers do it. Barca used to send Pique up front late on if needed.

Yeah and Klopp doesn't claim to be some sort of special god like character when it works unlike the other tosser.

Thank you. I'm learning that sometimes a thread title is enough and it doesn't matter one bit what you actually write underneath.

I like the point about bringing the defenders on as strikers, this is the kind of discussion I hoped to start – not really criticism per se, but some things we are noticing about Klopp's way of doing things that are kind of weird or confusing. I think it's better to talk about those things early while we are still in love with the new manager than allow them to grate somewhere in the back of our minds and only to be released all at once once the love-in is over and we hit a rough patch. Anyway, I'll try to shut up and read a newspaper now.

Look at any match thread - there's already normal, transient criticism of Klopp decisions. That's nice and organic. Making it into a thread is forced and cynical and smacks of someone finding himself at a loose end. It's like Adrian Durham on TalkSport: Monday: 'Foreign food - what's the fuss?' Tuesday: 'British food - why are we so insular?' Wednesday: 'Messi - why doesn't he challenge himself by signing for Peterborough?' Thursday: 'Peterborough - what's the point?' Friday: '1966 World Cup winners - why don't we just shoot them all?' Can you stick a few Selco ads in here and complete the air of authenticity?

Yes. There's nothing wrong or disloyal about questioning or even criticising him or any player for that matter. Nor does agreeing with his every word and deed a superfan make.

Right lads, there's no need to start any new threads, Macca has all the debates sorted.

Grand. At least you a knowledge you can be petty and hypocritical.

Calm down macca, he is only a world-class manager, not the Son of God and Saviour of Mankind. I think Klopp himself feels a bit uncomfortable with the level of adoration he receives from the fans sometimes, he is a lot more down to earth than that. And you gotta admit his laugh is weird.

OK, definitely reading newspapers now.
