We're looking into reports of Babel to Hoffenheim but our steer is that it's not likely. Updating as we get more insight on this.

Echo thinks its Bollox

Tompkins hasn't been mentioned?

Actually it was all Neil Jones, then he switched to his Echo account and said nothings confirmed 'We are looking into it' same author, wildly weird

Must stress that there's been no confirmation from Babel or #LFC re: transfer to Hoffenheim. Fee seems a little low to me, on first glance.

RT @dan_bu: TSG Hoffenheim sign Liverpool´s Ryan Babel. About 7m € fee, according to "Bild". #LFC

Babel only has 18 months left on his contract, but even so, €7m seems a bit cheap for a player of his age and experience.

The initial tweet was by Tompkins "confirming" it.

He's bollocks, but I do think he'll do a lot better with games.

We never gave him a chance really. I don't think our brand of predictable through the middle toss was ever suited to his style.

apart from a 'very' select few over the past ten years it hasn't suited the attacking players in general.

I don't think it's suited to me either. I mean I sat there and watched Maxi do precisely fuck all for 90 mins on Sunday, zero happened down the left all game as I wondered what the fuck Cole or Babel must possibly be like in training - and then I watched Spurs v the Mancs - which although nil all was a lesson in pinging the ball from the half way line to someone belting it towards the corner flag. I'd just seen Alonso doing it all night in the midweek game for Ozil and Ronaldo too. And there's Lucas and Spearing looking as likely to stand on the fucking thing as find a pass. I don't think under the circumstances we can blame the forwards.

We've bought alot of shite attacking players, the ones with real quality have shone, the one's who weren't good enough proved they weren't good enough. Has anyone really left here as a failure and gone to another club and taken it by storm? Not many, if any.

Did he fail here because of the football we played? When he played he mostly did well, there were a load of other reasons, like his injury record, the fact he gave the impression he was a shithouse, and he wanted to go back home..

We haven't bought many good wide players, everyone else with quality has shone in the team, we've not destroyed many attacking players simply because of the way we play, generally players have left here and gone to other clubs and played no higher than the level they played at here.

#LFC confirm that a bid from Hoffenheim has been accepted, and that the player will travel to discuss terms in Germany.

We're all here for you Neil, if you need to talk.

Personally I don't think he failed, he was really good towards the end of the season and I was gobsmaked when he went out on loan
