Aston Villa

It is a very sad reflection on the state of this site when there are so few posts following a win.
Lose or draw and there would be at least four new threads, all in various guises, calling for Rodgers to be sacked immediately.

Fair point and it was nice to enjoy at least parts of a game for the first time in a while, but we won what shoukd be a routine game. Dropping points would at home to a team as shite as Villa woukd warrant more attention.

Be to honest we won. Does anything else matter?

Yes. In fact I'm not sure if winning actually matters much at all in isolated games. It's arguable I suppose.

Personally I find it hard to take any joy from it when I worry that the longer term consequences (say for further ahead than the next 3 or 4 matches) will be bad.

But if others feel differently then that's fine too.

Sakho the twat fuck knows what planet he was on today.

I thought Sakho was OK. He seemed to get the blame for the defensive mix-up that led to Villa's first goal, but it happened right in front of us, and we got the impression that Sakho was about to head the ball away, when Mignolet called to him to leave it.

Yeah, it'll mean we're doing well.

Fuck that.

What would be the point of us doing well for 10 games or so? I'm convinced Rodgers needs to go, just like I was in May. He's proving very hard to shift, unfortunately.

Right now, with the information I've got available, the best outcome I can see for us is dropping a few more points quickly in order to get a new coach. That seems reasonable to me even if it's still debatable. The fact is causes so much frothing at the mouth is just a bit strange, really, when you take a step back.

I see your point.

If I could guarantee Rodgers to be shifted after a couple of poor results, I'd probably take it. But, as that is waaaaay out of my hands, I want us to do as well as possible. Under whatever manager.
