Aston Villa v. Liverpool

We did well until the 2nd goal. Then when we realized how shit Villa were we decided to just jog around and wait for the whistle. Another rock solid performance from our back four though, very good to see. Clean sheet AND Skrtel scores, couldnt possibly ask for more. Sign of the times that our most shaky moment defensively was because of Carra. Pleasantly surprised with Shelvey's performance, guess I was wrong. Suarez very on off. Bellamy fucking beast AGAIN. And Downing underwhelming again. I think he is mentally a bit fucked at the moment. Desperately needs a goal. Or 3D glasses.

He desperately needs dropping, that's what. Continues to start games when he's quite clearly struggling.

This was his first start for a while wasn't it?
[/quote]

He started vs QPR last Saturday.

Think he was dropped for a few games before that to be fair, but he's still starting games ahead of someone who's more likely to create and score himself.

Surely they can see he's not playing well . I mean playing well is not just about assists and goals , ok they obviously help and can make a bad performance into a good one but you can still play well without them ...he's not doing either .

True. He doesn't look threatening when on the ball, badly lacking confidence. He's good at winning a throw in or corner though i'll give him that. ;D

Darren Bent has been forced to apologise to Aston Villa fans.

Bent apologised to Aston Villa fans last night after going shopping while his team were losing to Liverpool.

England star Bent missed the clash with an injury but came under fire on Twitter and Villa fans' sites after a picture of him out shopping yesterday was posted online.

Bent later apologised on Twitter, saying: "Nothing is more important to me than playing football. Sadly injury meant I wasn't able to do that today. Gutted not to be involved.

"I hope to be back very soon. Watched the majority of the game on TV. Never knew popping out would cause an issue and for that I apologise."

Haven't seen the photos, but if his club doesn't have a policy that requires players to attend matches when they're injured, then I don't see what he's done wrong here. It's not like he was doing something that could aggravate his injuries - well, unless his injury would've been made worse by walking around a lot. Put another way, if Villa were smashing us 5-0 instead, would the fans have reacted the way they did?

We are fans and want to watch every game our team plays.
We want to believe that it's the same for our players. I guess that's what annoyed the Villa fans.
