Is he really slow? Sometimes I think he's just out of position and therefore loses the decisive yards - which would be no biggie because it can be trained.

He's definitely REALLY slow. Like running through treacle slow. If you were being really kind you could say it was growing pains (he has the look of someone who grew in height very quickly and his body is still catching up), but pace is something you either have or you don't. He could mitigate things slightly by improving his anticipation, but unless he's playing with a Gomez or a Van Dijk, then he'll always be vulnerable.
