He’s probably a hero among the bluenoses today I reckon. What a cunt
Not entirely true. I have a bluenose mate who just text me and conceded the obvious. Pickford’s foul was cuntery of the highest order.

[article]No timeframe has been put on the influential defender’s absence and Liverpool sources are reluctant to rule out a return this season, but he is facing several months on the sidelines and the possibility of missing the remainder of the campaign cannot be discounted. The extent of the lay-off will be known only once surgery and a subsequent assessment have taken place and the operation has not yet been arranged.

The fucking gormless fucking prick.

You know we won't panic buy anyone, it just won't happen. We just have to hope we can keep Matip fit for the season, which is unlikely, otherwise we're facing Gomez and Fabinho for the rest of the season, which fills me with zero confidence.

Can't really legislate for losing your best defender and organiser, but is a sense of we've made our bed so we can lye in it.

We’ve taken a gamble the last 3-4 years with certain positions like the front 3 until this summer..we’ve let Lovren go and decided to try and be economical and smart/tight about buying another centre half and it looks like it’ll cost us heavily now unfortunately.

Nah, Lovren was just another wage and place in the squad.
Keep it together to January, and then dip into the transfer market.

Played 10 times in the League. Played in critical games at home to Leicester & City amongst others early on in the season. I wasn't a fan by any means, but he did his bit, and needed replacing. This injury to Van Dijk only reinforces that. Not even taking into account Gomez and Matip' history of injuries and niggles.

The only "positive" out of this is we will step up plans to bring in defensive reinforcement, which as some have pointed out, is a little overdue given our CB options luck with injuries.

We’ve shipped in 11 goals already in 5 games can we do any worse? Let’s say goodbye to #20 anyways

Given the state of other teams' defences, the quality of our squad overall and the fact that we are (mostly) now the believers Klopp wanted us to become, I still say we've got as good a chance as any and better than most. Once years ago, injuries and one or two suspensions meant that barely into the first few games we were left with a CB pairing of Stevie Nicol (wonderful utility player but had always been a fullback or wide MF) and Gary Ablett (squaddie fullback). We ended up winning the league and setting a record for fewest goals conceded.

Stuff the rest of them. We are Liverpool.

As if the FA will admit it was missed by VAR. They're probably just reviewing it to have a wank. Fucking nonces.
I may be quiffing here but the VAR team themselves said after the match that they didn't see/review the assault.

I’m with team JJ.

Most on here seem to have rated him more highly than I have in the past. He's immensely strong and reasonably quick, but I've always had doubts about his overall footballing quality and my bet is that others have too, or he'd probably have moved by now. We could certainly do worse though, and if we buy in January the choice of candidates may be limited anyway.

He definitely needed replacing. I’ve said throughout that we may have to wait till January to get the centre back we want and hope for the best till January and Fabinho could fill in. I just didn’t expect that to happen a week after the window closed.

Lovren was unavailable half of the time and when he did play we were expecting a brain fart. I would bet his lowlight reel is longer than his highlight reel.
