It's a very tricky match.

In the past few years when Australia have come up against Uzbekistan, the Uzbek side has not been able to field its full strength side.

Will be interesting to see how they go with Bakaev, Shatskikh, Djeparov and Kapadze all available and fit.

Hopefully the lads can do the job and give us all a delightful present for Australia Day 8)

japan 1 south korea 1 at half time cracking game honda ; kagawa and hasebe outstanding for japan.

Honda MOM in a game that went to penalties. Shouldn't have, really... Korea scored a scrappy goal in the past minute of ET. Both Honda and Endo stood out IMO.

It was never a penalty for Korea. I thought it was a soft decision.
Japan had a great first half but then was pretty shit from the second half. I thought Kagawa was dreadful most of the game.
Honda has improved incredibly over the last year.

Socceroos, tbf...

Japan wins! 1-0 right towards the end of extra time.
Honda voted player of the tournament.

You know, Australia were hellbent on attacking via long balls and crosses.
It certainly caused problems for Japan many many times, but I though the very few tomes they attacked along the ground, quick passes amd through balls, they looked far more dangerous. I think the tactics were wrong for them.

And is it just me or has Kewell seriously beefed up? Is this part of the reason why he doesn't get injured anymore?

Wasn't overly impressed with Honda, but fatigue may have been a factor.

The Japanese leftback, Yuto Nagatomo, was really impressive. Plays for Cesena and apparently Wenger named him the best left back of the World Cup. Some articles on the net suggest that the likes of Barca, Inter are tracking him.

The Japan LB did look good, he was up and down like Lizarazu.

Aus had chances but Japan are a decent team. Honda was consistent from what I saw.
