“Due to persistent standing by Liverpool supporters at away stadia last season, our ticket allocation has been reduced by the certifying authority who issue Aston Villa’s safety certificate.â€
Your allocation at Villa Park has been reduced by 20% from 3000 to 2400 because of persistent standing at away games. Our fans never sit down at away games, so I’m not sure why Liverpool has been singled out.
Here’s what one of the directors at Villa said…
AVFC did NOT cut the allocation to the L'pool fans...the Council did. Simply put, L'pool has had problems with fans standing and the Health and Safety folks have basically limited the numbers that can get away tickets. I must confess that I am concerned that such action may well be taken against our fans when we go away. Standing is no joke to the health and safety folks....there is a regulation against it and we will be made to pay if we don't comply. We can argue all we want about it but obviously the action against L'pool is a shot across every Club's bow. (General Krulak)
A mate of mine who works at VP thinks that the police are going to make a concerted effort to force you lot to sit down on the 28th, which could be troublesome seeing as its a 19:45 kick-off and people will have had plenty of ale on a bank holiday Monday.
