Not here, I know nothing about him apart from one poster on here thinks he's the bee knees and that he's a bit of a sick note.

Please, let him be fit and adapt quickly to life in England.

Re: Aquilani

If we're going to have 2 years of 'It's not his fault he's injured' or 'once he's fit he'll be a new player', I will defenestrate myself.

Why don't you just slit ur wrist now ?

Wow, I'm impressed at how quickly we've moved. And I'm excited about the signing althought this whole fascist thing takes the edge off it a bit. I'll settle for taking it with a pinch of salt for me, it's nothing more than internet rumours.

I'm also excited about how we're gonna spend the rest of the money.

This guy has long been talked about as a talent waiting to explode onto the scene, let's hope that we can help him do it.

Just one?

Liverpool FC today confirmed they have agreed a deal with AS Roma for the transfer of Italian international Alberto Aquilani, subject to a medical.
Liverpool concluded their discussions with Roma once the sale of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid was finally agreed.

Aquilani, who recently celebrated his 25th birthday, is expected to feature heavily for Italy in next year’s World Cup finals.

Rafa Benitez said: "Alberto is a very good player and I'm delighted we've reached agreement with Roma for his transfer. He will travel to Merseyside later this week for a medical. Alberto has a winning mentality and great experience in both Serie A and the Champions League.

"He has long been recognised as a top class talent in Italy, captaining his country at both Under 19 and Under 21 levels before establishing himself in the senior national side."

Me too. I have no idea who this fella is, Italians haven't excited me for a long time (oo er, vicar).
20 million is huge money for us, I hope he's that good.

He's never stood out when i've seen him (he's been poor, actually) but im in no position to judge whether or not this is a good signing. Other forums i've been on dont seem to rate him very highly at all though. There was a few rumours about him heading to Arsenal and i dont remember reading of anyone who actually wanted him *awaots dig at Arsenal*...has anyone here seen much of him?

he has good attributes, tall and technically good but his injury record is a major concern. I can't believe the fee (if its pounds not euros), I just hope its heavily incentive based

No no, I've decided he's far too pretty to be a fascist, his mind is filled with daisys and butterflies.

Fast? Is it becoz rafa knows the biznez?

This is when the (ever so often called 'ROUTINE') medical checkup really comes into place :-X

why did we ever let parry loose with this shit. don't you feel well better knowing rafa is on the case?

poor old lucas, with the exit of alonso rafa dangles the first team in front of him and like a carrot in front of a donkey and then cruelly he rips it away

Everyone knows i love Aquilani and those that know me from way back will know ive always been a huge huge fan.
I cant wait to see him playing for us, i genuinely dont think ive ever been happier about a signing (That said my history of joyous signings are patchy Babbel and Torres ACE, Morientes and Kewell ERM....) I hope he can stay fit, if he does i dont doubt he'll make you all proud. Hes a fucking gem.
FORZA ALBERTO!
