Our best player last pre-Season was Joke Hole
He was quite good for about 25 / 30 minutes of the season too.

Was he? I seem to remember N'Gog being on fire and banging in the goals for the first couple of weeks, 3 goals in the Euro games and then one against Arsenal, we only played three friendlies and we lost two and drew one. Cole played in one of them, and one of the Europa League matches (prior to the Prem kick off). He must have been boss.

I rate Aquilani, but the fact that FrancofuckingZavaglia won't be postulating every two minutes about imminent moves for Aquilani, would be sheer relief. Whether that in itself is a reason for getting rid is another matter though.

I was just thinking the exact same after reading his latest quotes about aquilani being available for €10 . I wish he'd shut the fuck up and piss right off

Latest murmrings on twitter is that Fiorentina, Milan and Juventus all have deals on the table for Aqua. He'll be off soon.

fuck.

Like I've said before if Aqua leaves, I'm pinning my last hope on us getting Mata, in order to get a top 4 spot this season.

I'm hearing that Milan are after Montolivo and Aqua is supposed to be his replacement in Fiorentina.

According to Italian media the bid from Milan is a 1 year free loan with a forced option to buy, 6 mill.

If true we should under no circumstances accept.

The Italian media also reports that his girlfriend has said she will never return to England..

Quite.

Hasnt it been confirmed by reliable sources that he desperatly wants to return to Italy? If so, there really isno point in keeping him. Its a shame cause he was head and shulders above the rest when he came on yesterday. Chickened out of a few headers and challenges though.
Well...doesn't seem too desperate if the papers were right about the reasons the deal with Fiorentina fell through. He didn't want to go on loan again.

I really don't want to see him go, but we need other players so it seems a must. Hopefully this is a lesson learnt though, that we do our homework on players and their mentalities etc. We seem to be going for players who really want to play for us, I hope that bridges the gap in quality because Aquilani looks more the natural top tier player than Adam and co do, but lacks the same level desire and grit.

We're desperately lacking creativity in midfield now that Aqua is going and Gerrard is injured.
I'm still not convinced by Henderson and Adam.

Aquilani helps us keep possession, that's what I love about him. Our game seems so fluid with him on the pitch. I would have loved to see the damage he, Suarez, Downing and Gerrard would do to the opposition.

Can't we just force him to stay?

We really need to sign another creative player, if he leaves. The current midfield, minus Lucas, Gerrard and Meireles is worrying me.

Henderson and Adam were in the top 4 of all players in the Premiership last season regarding created chances.
I think the creativity is there, we just need the players to gel.

I hope you're right. But stats don't paint the real picture tbh.
Creativity for me doesn't always mean getting the assists. It also means getting out of sticky situations, stringing the midfield together, picking the right passes and creating space.
Aquilani does all this with no real effort it seems.
I can't see Henderson nor Adam doing this. How I miss Alonso.

Modo, you are talking like we're losing a player who has been great for us. We're not because he hasn't been. He wasn't here last season and the year before that he hardly played.

Maybe he would've been good. Who knows? But essentially if he goes we've lost nothing apart from 'a possibility'.

In the second part of last season we played well and created chances. We didn't have him then. Now we've added more players to the midfield and we'd be pretty unlucky if they all failed to do anything, so chances are we'll be better off.

I know you want him to stay but if he does leave it really is not the end of the World.

I can see the way this is going. If we have another medicore season, its going to be because we got rid of that third-rate Norwegian slayer Aquaman.

FFS.

LOL.

I, personally, won't believe a shred of these rumours that he's goint to fiorentina/Milan/Inter until I hear from his agent - who seems to eb the only man we can believe in this sordid affair.

My Dad's a taxi driver and he picked up Aquilani tonight.

Fare came to £4.20 and he never tipped a bean.

Let' just sell the tight bastard!

In the 2nd half of the season we had a certain Suarez who carried us. Let's put all the burden on him again. We have a captain that is struggling with injuries and no other central midfielder with Aquilani's class. I thought we we're striving to get better?
But I guess you're happy with status quo, Richey.

And Larry, your argument is fucking shite.
You know, I would have agreed with both of you if anyone in our midfield showed the same kind of class against those 3rd level Norwegians like Aquilani did in the 15 minutes he played.

There's a difference between what Suarez and Aquilani have done for us though y'see.

One has taken the fucking dick out of Manchester United when it counts, the other did well as a sub against a shit Norway team. In a friendly. He still didn't score mind but he took 2 corners.

Right, but he did more than Hendo and Adam did in the 75 minutes they played.
