i think hes pretty much just like ming, pretty good passing, shits out of 50/50s and got a decent shot on him, he's probably a bit less attacking though
His positioning and movement is far inferior to Ming's when we're in attack.
As is his workrate.
Agree with that entirely.

I think movement is Ming's greatest attribute - he runs very good lines and creates space for everyone. That was a big part of our success in the second half of the season. He made the space and provided the movement for someone like Lucas to be hitting with through balls etc. I think we'll miss him badly if he's allowed to move on.

Certainly will. That'll be very much a case of taking one step back in order to take two forward.
I'd say getting rid of Ming would be 2 steps back and 1 step forward, if that.
I can't fathom why he's one of the first players being linked away from Liverpool.
It was obvious for all to see how great he was, particularly off the ball. We played so much better with him in the team, and once Dalglish became manger he even played well on the right.
Not only that, his end of season stats that someone provided recently was one of the very best amongst all midfielders in the league. Comparable to Modric. The 30m pound man everyone's after. And we'd be happy to get rid for 13m? Because he wants to be on more than 35k per week? For one of the best in the league?

Something's not right...

Alberto Aquilani insists he has no problem returning to Liverpool following his season-long loan at Juventus.

The Italy international is due to return to Merseyside for pre-season training after a permanent move to Juventus fell through.

Aquilani impressed at Juve during his loan, but the Italian giants refused to pay the asking price to keep the midfielder in Turin.

The 26-year-old has previously admitted he would have preferred to have stayed in Italy, but he insists he is looking forward to returning to Liverpool.
"I return to Liverpool with great enthusiasm," Aquilani told Sky Italia."This is not a problem.

"It's not true that I didn't want to return to England."

yup. i'm willing to welcome him as a new signing. His injury woes weren't that bad last season so i'm hoping he'll come back with drive and determination

I'm not sure I see a role for him in the team though...certainly not in our "first" team

he definitely can't walk in to the first team. I think he'd work well with suarez though. Both quite clever with passing and with andy up top if could turn delightful.

Think he'll be reserved for teams who park the bus

With the Euros coming up, he'd probably be quite keen to stay put in the Italian team. Hopefully that translates into more ballsy performances.

I could defo see him playing in our first team. In fact between him and SG and Ming and this Henderson chap and Dirk and Suarez and Carroll we can stop buying anyone.

Maybe i'm a sucker for punishment but i'd be quite excited if he did return.
Me too, the problem though is if we were banking on his transfer fee, if that's the case you could see it being made known to him that he's not wanted, especially if Kenny doesn't particularly see a place for him in his team.

He would be like a new signing though, he's quality.
Hes started the last few i think.

If Aquilani does come back, there is plenty of evidence from the end of the season before last that he could be a good player for us. In fact quite a few people were disappointed to see him go, myself included. If he has an injury free season, he could be awesome for us, i don't think he will do though.

There's a fucking boss article about Aqua at Liverpool that details his last performances, the fact he gave the ball away less than any other attacking player, made more forward passes & shows we performed much better when he played.

Too many fans are blinded by his earlier performances, in a team playing poorly, coming back from a long time not playing into a new league.

I'll welcome him back gladly, he'll make a few people eat their words.

He had glass ankles and was sick of getting needles stuck in them. he's probably well less of a shithouse now he's fixed.

Upside he started four from last five (other one he was a sub). Downside, he was replaced after about 30 mins in the last one a few weeks back due to injury

Aren't England higher ranked than Italy? Which would put him up there with Carrick and Barry?
