Just curious to know how mascher is doing at Barca? Admittedly I want him to be a crashing failure but I thought I'd check. just to show I'm not a bitter fan I love how Xabi has slotted in with Madrid. Wish he was still a red though.

But his wife is happy in a Spanish speaking country. That's the most important thing.

He's developed piles from all the time spent on a cold bench

At least his wife is happy, so the hot sex is a small price to pay for irritating piles.

I bet his wife is well pissed off. She had the language excuse for living thousands of miles away from the twat last year, now it'll have to be the microclimate or the lack of corned beef

Ha ha brilliant! Maybe he can enjoy his Barca 'tower' better than his Liverpool one 8)

I'd take him back.

I would do even though he's a prick for how he left.

We need a player like him but the whole refusing to play for the team bit still irks me somewhat

Naw, we've got lucas now

He'd be useful to have back but on the other hand I'd prefer someone else for our DM. Someone better on the ball and better in the air.

Javi Martinez or M'Bia would do.

And yeah the way he left kind of indicates he's not one for the future.

Obv, it's a no brainer, if there was ever a chance to bring him back, none of us would ever turn it down.

I'm not so sure about that.

That would depend on what other targets were available really.

Masher on his day is one of the most effective defensive midfielders in the game but I'd like our future DM to have a slighlty different set of attributes. A better passer preferably, more shrewd when in possession and more of a capacity in the air.

Absolutely, KHL.

I would be gutted if we were after him back. He's not that good, and he's a gobshite. The problem wasn't letting him go, it was not using the money for a better replacement.

I'd have him back in a heartbeat.

Bit superficial, Neets ?

Look at our prior midfield 'enforcer' types. From Hamman, Molby, McMahon, Souness, Case and any I've left out. They could all play football. Masch can't, and god knows why Barca wanted him.

You can add alonso to that list

I wouldn't have him down as a top tackler. Every time he tried he either broke his or someone elses leg.

I tried to find a picture of his wife to see what he was so sprung over, but couldn't find one.

Which clearly means, she is just as ugly as Masher.

I always thought the defensive side of Alonso's game was very underrated.

I also think Masher is much more of a footballer than people give him credit for.
