So, now it's official that he's Ronaldo's replacement, what's the verdict on him?

I saw him probably around 10 times last season and he looked a very tidy, deft player.

I certainly wouldn't have opposed him joining us.

However, I'm sure the Scum fans must feel somewhat 'deflated' by the news, after all he has some huge boots to fill.

Good signing, average or shite?

a 'riera' type signing...

good solid player with occasional bits of brilliance but sometimes can go missing in games.

i'm happy they spent 2x riera for a similar impact player. its what they're gonna spend the other 60 million on that will be interesting.

He's no world-beater, but he is a decent player and he'll be playing with excellent players around him. Like Terrier I wouldn't have objected to our signing him.

Is he Ronaldo's replacement though? they will buy someone else to help fill the morons boots

Both. They were never going to be able to replace Brylcreem Boy with just one signing. Nasty, self-obsessed, whiny show-off though he may be, he's one amazing player

I would hate to see him here and I'm delighted Slur Alex has signed him. He's distinctly average. If that's Ferguson's judgement on what a £20m player is then I hope he goes out and buys three more of them. Then he'll have wasted his Ronaldo money pot on mediocrity.

He's essentially bought a player who can run fast, *occasionally* put a decent ball in the box, and has scored 7 goals in 84 appearances for Wigan. We should be celebrating.

He seemed good but never thought he was great really. He might do better in a better team though of course but to consider him a replacement for Ronaldo would be wrong, and if United don't have something else lined up then they are going to be in a bit of trouble.

Sadly, if any club can come up with something unexpected even when things aren't looking good then its them. Can't write them off just yet

He's young, gonna be having a better team of players around him. Wouldn't be able to replace Ronaldo imo, but could very well improve.
