The teenage daughter of a former Premiership footballer has been found hanged in the flat she shared with her boyfriend.
Sibylle Sibierski, 18, had recently left her family's £1.5m home to move into a rented apartment with Adam Mohammed.
Her body was discovered by police when they broke into the £200,000 flat on Monday after her father, Antoine Sibierski, raised fears for her safety.
Mr Sibierski, who played for Manchester City, Newcastle and Wigan Athletic before becoming a football agent, is thought to have raised the alarm after failing to make contact with his daughter.
The former striker and his wife Isabel were too distraught to talk about the tragedy on yesterday. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
Miss Sibierski, a part time nightclub promoter, was studying for A levels in Psychology, Sociology, French and Spanish at Cheadle and Marple Sixth Form College.
She was living in flat a mile from her family home in Altrincham, Greater Manchester and was said to be ''besotted'' with Mr Mohammed, her boyfriend.
In her final Facebook posting, in the early hours of Saturday morning, she wrote: "had a very good evening, Heart&Soul was good and i love A. very, very muchâ€.
A Facebook tribute group set up by friends of Miss Sibierski had gathered more than 500 members by Tuesday evening.
One friend, Charlotte Ferris, wrote: “Sibylle, I have never met a girl who was so loving as you were. I will never forget you and I know you're in Heaven looking down on us. Ill love you forever and always, you are an angel. Rest In Peace beautiful.â€
The case has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission over claims Sibylle had contact with police in the hours before her death.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: ''At about 5.40pm on Monday 1 February 2010, police were called following reports of concerns over the welfare of a woman.
''Officers attended, forced entry and the body of an 18-year-old woman was discovered. The case has been passed to the coroner.
''Due to previous police contact, the incident has now been referred to the IPCC for their consideration.''
The dead woman's father played for several French clubs before moving to Manchester City for £700,000 in August 2003. He moved to Newcastle in 2006 before signing a two-year deal with Wigan Athletic on a free transfer the following year.
In September 2008, he joined Norwich City on loan only to return to Wigan where he was released from his contract at the end of the 2008/09 season.
