Im feeling this warm contented feeling inside when i think of liverpool again. Its been a long long time since ive felt quietly excited about the future.
This season was always going to be a write off really, but we started it with no money, on the brink of bankruptcy with no prospective buyers in sight, run by Hodgson and with Poulsen and Lucas as our creative fulcrum.
Here we are just 6 short months later owned by NESV a proper sports franchise with (it seems) money to spend, Kenny is in charge and we are potentially about to pick up a couple of decent reinforcements.
The season is still a write off as it was always going to be, but fuck me its making me all ready brekky thinking about the future. I might even start playing fifa as us again.

Franchise my dick.

Er...
I worded that badly, i meant they are a proper sports franchise owner. Not a couple of skint chancers.

I'll feel better when we buy a pair of proper, reliable centre halves. Until then I'll put all the warm fuzzy feelings on hold.

Fifa?! *shocked face smiley*

But yeah, it's all looking good now. Could be teh turning point of our season, fuck knows we need it to be. European football must, must be our target

BTW, does that equal 7th or 6th place this season? or does it depend who gets in for fair play & such bollocks?

Kenny shits trophies.

That's certainly true.
I never mentioned Comolli the date rapist looking motherfucker

SO how does that work exactly - if I take out the franchise can I call my tool "Krump's dick" & then use it indiscriminately?
Dont get me wrong, i expect a long hard season ahead and a slog to try and get into a respectable position. The point being im optimistic about next season and the season after and the season after. 6mths ago we almost didnt have a club. And we had Hodgson.
We just beat team 2nd from bottom, im not sugar coating that, im just excited that were on the road to recovery.
I think weve left rock bottom behind and were climbing upwards.
The signings are key of course as to how fast and how far we climb. If the Suarez, Young, Elia rumours are true it really is exciting times. If the Downing, Adam, Warnock ones are true then recovery may take some time.

Lets not get carried away.

We beat the worst team in the league by a mile.

Let's win our next 2 home games before we get excited.

Having said that yesterday was as happy as I've been since we won the CL semi in 07.

To be very frank, the mood on this forum changed even before the game. The game and result has merely served to solidify that.

We had not had a victory for a while, we had made no signings in the transfer window, but the forum has been in a jovial mood ever since Kenny has taken over. I've certainly seen much less of the sniping and trolling.

No. If say Chelsea won it but finished 5th, the team in 4th would lose out. Merseyside rules 2005 😉
Everton also got in. They got battered first round, we all laughed as we battered TNS.

So you were happier yesterday after beating the "worst team in the league" than you were after we win 4-1 at old trafford?

I was happy for a win but confident that we'd get it.

The type of football that we're playing ensured that a win was around the corner even though we lost our previous 2 and drew 1. The general improvement is stark.

Continue improving our general play, the return of Gerrard and Carra plus a few quality additions will see us move up the table.

definitely signs of a turning point to the season and i hope your optimism isn't misplaced! as mentioned though, probably wisest to remain cautious and see where the team go from this win throughout the next few weeks

Dude, there's no misplaced optimism. Did you see Poulsen and Lucas had a good game?

That's a miracle in itself and there's more to come. There were jibes made about Kenny being a King and not a miracle worker! I beg to differ.

Let the good times roll!

my only objection is that the opposition was wolves! the football was very good for the most part but against better opposition i can still see the defence being exposed time and again

Wasn't he miserable that entire season? He's a classic self sabotager, he'd rather avoid total abject failure via relegation than narrowly fail to win the league.

Dude, I think most of us recognise that our defence is fragile at the best of time but Carra who has struggled is close to a return. That's cause for optimism.

Remember that this is the same Wolves that beat us a month ago so we can only beat whose in front of us. The derby was a starting point, now our first win. I like the improvements. One game at a time is all we can do.

Pass and move, pass and moven we're in the groove!

dont get me wrong, im hoping that a couple of weeks from now you can say to me 'i told you so!'

Dude: No need to hope and I wouldn't have to. We'll all be enjoying that winning feeling again.
