Alisson in wonderland

He was caught pissing around against Spurs, which happens from time to time, but i dont remember one shot he should or even couldve saved.

If a striker in the box has a clear shot and hits the ball cleanly to the corner of the net, no keeper is saving it.

Weve had this scenario or similar over and over, where he has no chance.

He's not had the 1 on 1s where he really shines, and he's done the "basics" really well still, like deal with the shot from Elanga.

This lazy use of stats with low sample size, and no use of the brain to see context is what annoys some posters.

He's fine.

I think he could have done better for the 2-2 goal against Utd and maybe yesterday.
Not back to his best yet, and we need him to perform at his high usual level for the rest of the season.

I don’t think he’s provided any upgrade on Kelleher since returning. Possibly even a slight downgrade as Kelleher is much more present in our possession.

Hasn’t looked close to saving any of the goals we’ve conceded

If Konate was back to full fitness do we concede as many goals ae we have done? Trent should not be a RB, experiment with him in MF, he leaves us too exposed and allows to be overloaded
Robbo needs to be sold, he is shit!
We have scored in every game bar Forest at home... The club knows where the chinks in the armour are and need to buy players to fix it

I haven't looked at a recent goal conceded and thought "kev would have saved that"

Ali isn't up to top speed yet, but I think it's being a little over the top blaming him as well.

My view is that we haven't gained anything in shot stopping - given he's not stopping any. And we have lost the level of input that Kelleher gave us at the back that Ali is not quite doing. It felt like Kelleher would be 5 years more advanced that Ali is, and would provide much more of an option to our build up at the back, which invites a press etc.

Either way - Ali is not playing like the Ali we know at the moment.

Arguably Alisson hasn’t been at his absolute best since returning from his long lay-off. If Kelleher conceded that shot, it would have been the stereotypical “Alli saves that” reaction from everyone.

Does Kelleher save the same shot? Not sure, but on current level of performance there is not much difference between the two.

What was up with him in the Spurs game? I don't mean the mistake, but his general demeanor. His movement was awful, like he was carrying an injury still. He's looking a bit like Reina did when he started to decline, the first thing that went was his agility and shot stopping.

yea this is exactly what i was thinking, he looked like he was hungover or ill or something. be a bit strange if it just happened all of a sudden but he didn’t look right.

I dont think he can be blamed for any of the goals.

But I think we have missed Kevs passing, as his long ball to (mainly) Mo gave us another option.

Yes, thought the same. He looks like those hamstring issues have made him less agile and less mobile.
Starting to think that moving on this summer might be the best thing for all parties, but lets wait and see how he gets on for the rest of the season.
