Even at the rumoured £55m it's still a pretty good deal. If it's £40m someone needs to call the police on us.
Simon Jordan was positively outraged that all of Brighton’s good scouting is being exploited by bigger teams.

I'm sorry but 35m is Robbery.

I've never been so impressed with our negotiating

If it's a clause (kinda must be right) we've triggered, how is it no one else seemingly knew of this before Romano broke the story?

Madness.

It's most likely.

35m guaranteed
20m add ons

Spread over 4 or 5 years.

Release clause was probably somewhere in the middle, but we didn't want to pay it all up front.

So pick your poison.

55 mill comes from the Brighton journo that has been stating the whole time that Mac Allister wont leave.

I'll have a shot of 35m top whack please barkeep, with 5 m in bonuses for winning the PL and CL. *tucks £20 into Nomad's breast pocket*

Jorg already in my good books...although I'd suspect we'd already made our interest in him known before he was appointed.

What has it to do with Jorg?? . This is all Julian Ward's hard work.

Fat Jorg has done nothing since coming in except urge us to sign Micky V instead of Inacio

Ok ok I take it all back!!!

Execute big Jorg!!!!
and Knight Wardy!!!!

Long live our king!!!!!!

This signing certainly puts a stop to the notion that you cant sign top players if you havent got CL footy.

If we end up getting Kone, Viega and Thuram too, for under £130M -ish total, no one can tell me that money would have been better spent on Bellingham (with his knee brace and all).

Would represent very shrewd business.

Corrected for accuracy and ambition

great start. But the rebuilding has only just begun - we were 4-0 down and now it's 4-1.

Keep showing us the ambition FSG.

Fingers crossed......but we have to act shrewd as we don't have 200m+ to spend.

As you say it's a nice start, hopefully Thuram & Grav next and then someone like N'Dicka to finish off.

Didn't you say he's heading to PSG as per Romano?

Unless we selling Fabinho and Thiago/Henderson/Jones/Elliott, I can't see us signing 4 mids. Even 3 new mids appears to be ambitious.
We need to future-proof now. I can't control what the club does, but as I see it Fabs, Hendo and Thiago are waning, and then to get 4 exceptional MF who have the potential to reach 100M in valuation in 6-12 months would be a prudent investment. Thiago walks next season for free. We know he will be injured for large parts of this season, so why not cash on him now £5-10m. Fabs - could be rotated elsewhere. Hendo - benched. You could even sell Matip, and use Fabs as the 3rd choice CB. Matip is another one whose contract ends next season. He should be sold now even if its low as £5m. The club saves £15-17m in salaries alone
