True. We probably would have wasted that money elsewhere though.

I think the underlying issue it not necessarily the players.. But how they are coached.
That being said.. and I think someone has mentioned this already.. Lovren would be better suited in a flat back 4.. with a decent DM in front of him protecting the back line.
He would also probably fair better paying alongside a 'Leader' tye player..
Like Henchoz required and thrived upon when playing alongside Sami..
