According to Rafa's press conference last night Agger is already fully fit to play tonight. He won't though as we've got no other defensive worries but it's still a massive boost for the squad.

I think Vlad summed it up perfectly. I can't 'prove' myself why I reckon Agger is a better defender than Skrtl (Spidey's right when it comes to their positional sense as beeing one vital point mind) but I do think he is.

I think we're a better team overall with Agger playing. That's all.

That said I do like Skrtl and appart from a few sloppy errors in the first 15 minutes against Burnely I thought he looked assured. He even made an Agger-esque run up the field at one point. Hopefully they'll teach eachother a few tricks along the line and improve on their weaknesses.

IMO Agger has better anticipation of where a corner or a free kick is going to arrive therefore defends them better, for one.

And he's Danish, for two.

He's a mad skando for sure.

And he's not French, for three.

You know I'm not French, right?

I don't know much but that I did know.

You do have a thing for the French though. You like them.

Agger needs to prove he can remain injury free for more than a month. Until then, is there really a debate?
[/quote]
I kind of agree here.

He really needs to show himself and the gaffer that he is to be relied upon for more than four games here and there.

By the time that happens it will be next season, and then maybe it will be Skrtel and Agger, with Carra playing the Sami role. FWIW I think Agger is superior, but he cannot get on the pitch to prove it. And when he does, he is ruled out again within weeks. I hope he can get it together from now on, and his body holds firm.
