Not a chance..

Toothless in attack until the last 10 minutes of the game..

Our Home form is dire.. We should be putting teams like this out of sight!!!

Suarez plays bad we have no one else to pick up the mantle...

Arsenal are level on points now... its between them Spurs & Newcastle for 4th...

i've already said i think it's a much bigger ask than most think. i'd actually be pretty surprised. people seem to have their head in the sand about spurs and arsenal. they are better than us because they are far more capable of beating all the shit teams.

We're a one man team again...
it seems that way, our creativity in midfield is shocking it really is...

For the most part of that game we where losing the midfield battle

Much too early to throw in the towel. Look at the transformation when Kenny took charge in January. Look at where Newcastle(!!!) is in the table. Not to mention how Arsenal have picked themselves up after a dreadful start. It has been a very disappointing start, but we can change our fortunes as well.

Not unless there's a major turn around.

Spurs and Arsenal are flying, and then there's City, United and Chelsea.

Realistically it's not looking good at all.

IF spurs win their 2 games in hand we're already 6 points off 4th . Don't get me wrong i never expected the league or that getting 4th would be easy but i hoped we might at least look like we'd improved and were going in the right direction after all the money spent .

isn't going to happen. the only way I can see us getting 4th is if we buy a brilliant player in jan and he instantly clicks and good players aren't sold in january*

* except suarez

If we just stick to the same 11 or 12 players and expect them to improve or come good, then we arent going to do much better. So much so for the apparent increase strength in depth. When there's no competition, when certain players get picked regardless of their performances. I'm not saying he will definitely be of much impact but Maxi Rodriguez has only played 15 mins in league games this season.

Him, Cole, Aquilani, Meireles or even Shelvey. How much creativity or difference MIGHT they have made/offer?

this is my major concern about kenny - well, apart from the signings. it seems undeniable now that some players are being picked regardless of performance (henderson, downing, carroll). i honestly can't ever remember that happening at LFC before... maybe houllier with heskey?

Stewart Downing has hit the woodwork 3 times in the league this season; only 8 TEAMS (excl. LFC) have done so more often

Rotation, average changes for league games this season. Man U 2.8, Arsenal 2.7, Chelsea 2.4, Everton 1.9, LFC 1.4
(Rotation, changes in league games Rafa last 3 seasons: 09/10 2.5, 08/09 3.0, 07/08 3.4 changes per game)

"Don't fix it if it aint broke?" Unbeaten, yes. But we've dropped far too many points.

no, i don't agree that kuyt is a comparable situation. i'm hardly his biggest fan, but he's still been a great player for us over the years. part of the difference for mer is that at least kuyt and heskey came in and did well, and proved themselves top performers deserving of a bit of patience during dips in form. with the current 3 they've all done fuck all, are instant favourits, and other options have barely had a look in as a result. there's barely even a hint of rotation.

i've never seen something quite so blatant as the henderson thing this season. he's been played game after game and done fuck all, while maxi has had 15 minutes ALL SEASON after being our top scorer during the first few months of kenny's management.

you can't really say carroll is playing regardless of form.

yes i can.

carroll has not been playing week in week out. 11 games in and how many of those 11 games did he start? is he in double figures for league starts?

at least 7 of the 11, not sure if he started the stoke game. the point is he's been starting more than his form merits, imo.

Liverpool next 3 EPL fixtures: Chelsea (a), Man City (h), Fulham (a)

:-X
if we get 1 point out of them 3 games we have done well (by current standards)..

...and the point will probably be at HOME to Man City...

However if we by some major miracle we win all 3, well that spices things up a bit... (trying my best to remain positive, however this is the best I can do)

Team
Man City 11 31

Man Utd 11 26

Newcastle11 25

Chelsea 11 22

Tottenham 9 19

Liverpool 11 19

3 points off 4th place 6 points off 3rd, why is everyone flapping?

Sure we have dropped points, but 4th or better is still ours to take, 11 times hit the woodwork, where the fuck is our luck?

We could have been sitting pretty right now, but its the long run we are in for and lucks supposed to even itself out......

Cheers mate

No prob mate. Its worth noting too, that in the midst of those matches, Hodgson had Europa League matches to contend with - although, obviously he fielded weakened teams.
