2005 / 2018 team

Hamman didn't start...read the rules.

I did! Check the 2nd submission Professor J!

Manager 1st half - Klopp (Rafa gets penalized for Haman)
Manager 2nd half - Rafa (to set up the team to defend the 4-0 lead so none of us get unnecessary heart palpitations)

Kinda valid but if you think about it in terms of the multiverse, not so much. In lots of other universes they lost in 2005- probably in the great majority of universes. I have a feeling this Liverpool team will/have win/won in a preponderance of universes.
If it's a multiverse, I assume we're talking infinite?

If that's the case, surely they won an infinite number of times and lost an infinite number....and probably got terroristed in as many too

No, no, no. I'm talking about a finite multiverse. Infinite multiverses are for pussies. *runs away*

karius over dudek is an abomination

its quite even, but the front three is so superior that it makes the current team significantly stronger

Given the system, I could only realistically see Gerrard and Alonso getting in this team. I love Sami but would Klopp start somebody with his lack of pace?

Alonso, Hamann and Stevie would make this team so lethal.

Garcia will only make it to the bench.

Hyypia will partner Van Dijk. Carra will miss out just by a hair.

Rest is all arguable...
Robertson vs Riise is a interesting debate, but Robertson vs Djimi is not.
Finnan vs AA is also quite interesting, but I'll favour AA because he is more incisive.

Carragher was fearless except when it came to playing a ball out of defence. His technique used to be: receive it from the keeper, look up, pass it sideways, receive it sideways, pass it sideways, then point animatedly at seemingly no one in particular (his high profile camera-friendly point ought to be commemorated in marble) and shout at them to knock it forward, and if it didn't come off, blast the player as loudly as possible. I'm amazed he didn't get more smacks in the face.

Wow. You rate Lovren higher than Carra?
It's not about who I rate higher, though no I don't (despite arguably being more rounded his concentration and decision making just isn't as good), it's about who Klopp would select to work within the system. I think that'd be the current partnership.

Nah, he’s a million miles better than Lovren.
And when Carra came back into the side pre-retirement (high line under Rodgers) what looked like a very shit defence suddenly looked solid again.
Carra all the way.

They probably didn't want to get spat on

Dudek - not even a discussion for a me, made some great saves in the final and was a much better keeper all round

Finnan - the rb we've had in 30 years, some of you are either young or forgetful

Carra - the best reader of the game in terms of anticipating and getting a block in

VVD - shades Sami in the heading department and pace

Robertson - on the last 4 months form you can't leave this kid out.

Gerard - obvious

Alonso - obvious

Henderson - easy choice when you compare him to the alternatives, his engine, workrate and running is superb

Mane
Mo
Firmino

5 / 6

Holy shit!
Carra a better reader of the game than Hyypia? You fucking kidding me?!
Wow. Just fucking wow.
I need pull up that Zola vs Carra video or maybe even the one with Henry.

Hyypia was sent on his arse more than once

But snidiness aside, I agree, hyypia was a better reader of the game

Luis Gatcia..

He drinks s sangria..

He came from barca to bring us joy

How can he not be included?

He was our best player throughout the champions league campaign that Season..

Though.. Who do you leave out? Our current front three come as a set I guess..

He was brilliant but inconsistent, and I loved him

But nah. He doesn't deserve to be in that front 3

Kewell, Baros and Garcia are immediately fucked out for Bobby, Salah and Mane. That isn't even an argument.

You need to go watch Sami Hyppia highlights. His heading was amazing. Hardly ever got beat, and the distance he’d get from his defensive headers were spectacular. Hyppia in that CL run also scored that vital goal vs Juventus. His lack of pace might be an issue but he’s too good to leave out!

Picking Carra ahead of Hyypia is about the only thing you can do to wind me up.
Hyypia is among the best defenders who's ever played for this club.

I'm sorry for disrespecting your hero. Especially since he's a real role model.

Don't apologise Modo. I don't fucking care what you think about anything, really. Your opinion is of no value or interest.

Yeah, now and then I might take a half-hearted bite, and give you a quick kicking over some shite you come out with, but mostly it's just mild disdain, so crack on.
