It all goes back to that old football adage of artists and artisans.

Shankly was often quoted as saying that a football team is like a piano, you need 8 players to lift it and three who can actually play it. Paisley alluded to it as well, pointing out that Spackman was a player who would carry others 'on his back'

And I totally buy into the principle, but it's easier to appreciate the piano- carriers when they actually do some lifting, know where they're going and - crucially - you have enough virtuoso piano players to give you a sonata.

At the moment our defence can only play the theme tune to Benny Hill, the midfield are afraid to even lift the lid, and in attack you get Rossini once in every 10 games and fucking Chopsticks the rest of the time
I was disappointed in how poorly he competed with Wolves players physically. Wijnaldum is built like a brick shithouse but was getting pushed off the ball by much slighter players. There is Zero aggression in his challenges and that goes for quite a few of our players which is highlighted against lower league players who are used to it.

Yeah, not sure he's actually *built* like a brick shithouse, but he's deffo a shithouse. Doesn't want to know when it's all on top and does his Casper The Ghost routine

Again, nothing that any Newcastle fan wouldn't have been able to tell us.

Like all of our midfielders, a silky smooth operator when we are winning and playing well. But, along with the rest of them, he is too nice, a shithouse, and AWOL when the going gets tough.
At least we will win the Fair Play award this season though eh?

Ok he got a goal....what else did he do?

He could be the new kuyt. Goals in big games

Nah Kuyts most endearing quality was that you felt he would run through a brick wall to get 3 points for the team. Thats what allowed him to score so many key goals he didnt care who the opposition was or how the game was playing out he was 100% in the moment. Gini often gives the impression he wouldn't run through a wet paper bag.
