Of course it won't. We aren't mentality midgets !
Asked about Klopp's team ahead of their meeting at Villa Park on Tuesday, Gerrard said: "Because of the way the game has changed – it's gone quicker, it's gone faster – I think you're probably watching the best Liverpool team there has been.
"That's due to the speed, mentality and intensity of this current group.
"But I say that without disrespecting previous Liverpool teams because I grew up watching them. The European Cup winners, serial league title winners – I grew up on all of that. I'm well aware they've previously had world-class players, managers and teams."
Jurgen Klopp‘s team let two points slip on Saturday night, before Man City predictably took advantage to move three clear on Sunday.
It means that Liverpool essentially have to win at Villa Park in their next outing to ensure that they remain in the Premier League title fight.
Here are 10 things to know ahead of another crucial game.
Goal difference huh - cf. Crystal Palce May 2014
I wouldn’t be chasing goals. We need them to lose a game so that 4 could easily be wiped out. Just do what we do and the goals will come naturally.
We are going to drop points tonight as well. The collapse has already begun.
If we score early I think we'll go full send and get a huge morale boosting win.
WHEN we score early. We’re gonna smash them. We’ll cause an injury or suspension for m mings so he can’t play against City which will actually make them better.
Nah. We’re a massively better team with a massively better manager.
Because we've never lost to an inferior side?
Technically no. For a side to beat us, they were the better team on that day.
So when villa beat us last year they were better than us, and had a better manager on that day
Results speak for themselves.
I'd question how much it had to do with either manager but they were better than we were that day (for example it was the one and only iffy game I think I've ever seen Virgil play). Three of the Villa goals were sizeable deflections but that still left them a couple of goals clear.
People are insane
Let's just win this game then I can forget about it like I did that other game we are discussing for some reason, but I have zero recollection of.
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Fabinho, Jones, Keita; Diaz, Jota, Mane
Subs: Kelleher, Konate, Thiago, Milner, Firmino, Salah, Gomez, Henderson, Origi
Good to see Mo get a rest…
That should be enough to down these villains.
