NBA Playoffs

The good for the Cavs:
- Mozgov and Thompson, again. Eating all the rebounds, getting easy baskets over the Warriors' small ball team. Together with James, they gave the Cavs so many second and third chances in the second half, keeping the Cavs competitive in the 3rd. And Mozgov makes his free throws.

The bad for the Cavs:
- Everything else. James and Delladevola were running on fumes by the 4th.
- Delladevola, Shrumpert and JR Smith: 7/35 FG. Ouch.
- Thompson's handicap on the line makes him an easy target when the Cavs need baskets and are in the bonus. The Warriors have a bench deep enough that they can throw fouls at Thompson and still make trading 2-for-1 work - if their outside shots are falling, of course. Result: Thompson doesn't play, and the rebounding drops off because James is also worn out by then.

The good for the Warriors:
- About time they finally made their open shots and easy layups in this series. They did a much better job in this game with their aggression in taking the ball to the basket and finishing or drawing contact.
- Iguodala = the MVP for the Warriors in this series so far.
- David Lee. Blew a couple of easy shots under the basket, but the Cavs can't disrespect Lee on the high pick and roll, as opposed to Green. Curry gets a mismatch off the pick and off he goes.

The bad for the Warriors:
- Small ball team = killed on boards in defence. If the outside shots are not falling and Mozgov goes to town in the middle, it's a long night for them.
- Bogut. Still bad in this series.

The roles have reversed and the Warriors look in better shape again entering Game 5. Good series so far, though I thought Game 2 was rather meh and marred by poor officiating, while this game actually was much closer than the final scoreline suggested - well, at least up till the first couple of minutes of the 4th.

Not enough heat coming on JR Smith in my view. You can excuse Delly and LBJ tonight after that cos they're fucked from giving it big in the last 2 games, but Smith has offered up fuck all in this series and again tonight when needed provided zero.

Dude needs to start making some shots if they're any chance of winning this thing.

They woke the Kraken tonight. Amazing display. Like some guys on the Warriors RealGM forum said, "Lebron was in god mode tonight, but Curry had the cheat codes".

Lance Stephenson traded to the Clips in exchange for some pocket change and magic beans. If nothing else, the Clips will have the most entertaining starting 5 in the game.

Well done to the Warriors, deserving champs, and Iguodala was the right call for Finals MVP.

Basically a series where Warriors' star + amazing depth with players stepping up to the plate triumphed over the Cavs' superstar + scrubs (well, to be fair, Thompson and Mozgov showed they were better than that). It'd have been interesting to see how the series would've played out had Love and Irving been available, but you've to give Warriors their dues for their defence, as well as their adjustments and execution to come back from 1-2 down to win 3 in a row and clinch this.

Specifically on Game 6 - Blatt gambled by aggressively doubling and trapping Curry up high and daring the screener to shoot, and that blew up in his face spectacularly as Curry was able to pass out of the trap all game to find the open man, who would then oblige by making the basket or moving the ball quickly to the next open man to score. That play in the 4th quarter when Curry, facing a high trap at the sideline near half court, leaped and flashed a cross-court pass to Klay at the baseline corner for an open trey was just amazing.

In the end, the guy for the Cavs who kept them close and made the game interesting was streaky Smith. Too bad for the Cavs, he probably played only 2 or 3 good quarters in the entire series. James looked despondent and resigned to his fate late in the 4th and resorted to chuckng treys in the last 5 minutes.

Pity - I actually wanted LeBron to win a ring for the first time!

Cleveland are going to have a very interesting offseason - LeBron will opt out and sign a new '1 year contract with a 1 year option', Love will too probably etc ...
