Post Match EPL Everton (H) 2-1 - Sat 20th Sept 12:30

None of that helps integrate Isak and get his PL minutes up. I had no problem with that sub even if he was ineffective on this occasion.
You would’ve had a problem if we dropped points. We kept the initiative with Everton with that sub.

Isn’t ready to play three full games. He had most of a preseason with us and that’s our 6th game proper. He played half an hour on Wednesday. If he can’t play a single 90 minutes now, when will he?

Im sure he could have played a full 90 in one of them, if he didn't play the other 90 across two. It'll be about managing minutes across games to get the most out of them, not sure he'll play 90 minutes very often, now that we have Isak, neither of them will.

The Isak sub seemed utterly pointless. We would’ve got more out of playing Ekitike for 90 minutes. You can tell Isak is nowhere near ready in terms of fitness.

I agree with that as Ekitike excels at pressing the opposition and had a great game. But I also believe one of the main reasons we walked the league last year was our incredible injury record so I fully trust the physio team when it comes to managing players' minutes

Got to say numerous commentators / pundits have mentioned the fatigue was obvious in the second half. Maybe we shouldn't be so hard on some of our players for the drop off.

Crouchy saying he can deffo see Ekitike (who he says some of his best work has been from there) or Isak on the left with one centre.

Managing our players minutes to avoid injuries while giving our star striker minutes to get him up to speed is a negative how?

Every other topish side has a lot of injuries already!

So do I, and the way they've got Chiesa back into a position where he's fit enough to contribute backs that up.

To those of you complaining about what might have happened if other stuff had taken place, but didn't:

IF we'd won every game 8-0 to this point, and Wirtz was looking like prime KDB, and everybody was fit, and Ali hadn't had to make a single save yet, all season.... What would you all complain about then?

The incorrect shad of red on the jersey? The speed of the bus coming into Anfield? The angle of the TV camera?

he is clearly still coming to grips to how many of his passes are being read and intercepted by Premier League defenders.
I think this is the key point regarding Wirtz along with just how fast spaces get closed. His game is a lot about precision. This is why I think it will take him more time, although this is all hindsight on my part. I thought he would get up to speed faster.

I didn't TBH, if only because we're integrating so many newbies at once, individual quality notwithstanding. That said, I'm confident his game will adapt and there's no way we'd have spent all that moolah on him if the backroom boys didn't think so too.

A good win despite the team not firing all round, 3 points, but this team just can't keep clean sheet. In general, we are playing at a time with nine performing players, and the lightweight players are almost dead weight. (Salah & Wirtz) the latter reminds me of that Polish player wore No,7 shirt during Rafa's time! So useless! However, in Wirtz is so expensive?? Big improvement is needed! And I hope Slot got the gut to drop Salah or replace him! I don't think so!! He is more or less like Klopp!

Thanks again for the summary, Sammy.
Also there was no Polish player who wore the no 7 shirt at LFC during Rafa's time.
The only Polish player of any significance we had back then was the guy between the posts.
You could be referring to Smicer, but he's Czech and he wore the no 11 shirt.

Not sure if it's a bot. He's been registered for a long while and just pops in to give us a post match Sammy summery.
He's one of these nutters that pop up from time to time - like the Pool fan that called in to the Sky Sports program with John Gibbons and Tim Sherwood to say that Ali was our weak link. It's impossible to fathom how their brains work and how they arrive at those conclusions. Sigh.

It's a bot, it's pretty obvious. Sammy and Prettyboy both.

Don't even need to get my super trusted bot detector out for this 1.

Does he mean Yossi? Who definitely was Israeli but didn't wear the number 7. Smicer was during Rafa's time, but not for long, he was very much Houllier's player.

Do Bots misspell a lot? Sammy could be a Troll Bot. Prettyboy just can't spell so I think he's a real person.

Ultimately job done and thats all that matters

hella annoying how the commentators just spoke about grealish like hes their dad, he didnt even do anything but one cross which really kerkez misjudged

a bit alarming we getting out played by everton tbh

Gakpo been terrible but he does a job getting back, not sure isak would do the same so he has to play
