Arsenal v Liverpool Match Thread

Frustrating.

We created enough to win that despite playing quite badly and the wrongly disallowed goal is hard to take.

A point away to Arsenal isn't to shabby BUT...

City would've won that game comfortably.

To be fair, city can do what the fuck they want after recent allegations

Prolly a fair result in the end on balance of play, but we've had a disallowed goal there wrongly so maybe not. Anyway, we're still unbeaten against what is a legitimately very good Arsenal team.

Good game of football. To be fair Arsenal played well. Their players technically very good on the ball. Midfield was great battle. Shame we didn't score more with 2 on the post. Fair point to both team.

Not happy with that at all - to show we really mean business we should have beaten this lot - yes they played well but we should have been prepared and managed to counter and go beyond anything they could offer. This is not a good result - Chelsea/City have beaten this lot even though it was early in the season - we needed to prove a point. Fuck this - really pissed off.

Decent result that, resilient again, could have won. Even though we're not firing on all cylinders, there's something to be admired about our defensive progress.

We're going to do well this year ... but we're not going to win the league.

Or that may just be Saturday night drunken negativity

Yes it's disappointing but worse case scenario is we end the weekend only 2 points behind City having played Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal away. We ended last season over 20 points adrift. We're making great progress.

That's the only realistic scenario, Hughes' Saints are garbage and City got the 3 points in the bag. We'll be 2 points behind City and probably Chelsea as well.

Fair result but we should have won ... disallowed (legal) goal, post, bar and VvDs shot from point blank into Leno's stomach.

I'm very frustrated with the result.
Froggie's right about quality chances & crap refereeing but bottom line, it STILL feels as if we've not played one 'great' premier league game this year result wise (spurs was great but bottom line, we were lucky to escape with a draw after a missed penalty on Son).

I think a draw away is a good result, but we had a win ... and that makes the result tough to accept.

Teams likely to win championships win this kind of game. At least we didn't lose it, but as others have said, it was very frustrating not to win. I thought we weren't intelligent enough for long periods of the game, and that was disappointing too. Our passing wasn't so much sloppy as stupid at times - far too frequently we went backwards instead of forwards and that added to the pressure because we didn't seem to have a clear idea what we were going to do next. Robertson was good but he went awol defensively a bit too often for my liking. Milner - wow, what a professional, I thought he was absolutely immense.

(And as for the TV coverage, if I see one more shot of Emery doing his ridiculous hand gestures I'll kick the screen in. The amount of shots of him during that game was quite ludicrous.)

I thought they just had a recorded shot of him doing it and replayed it intermittently.

BT really won fans with their coverage tonight:

  1. @btsportfootball @empireofthekop I felt BT didn’t zoom in enough times on Emery when the game was in play. Also short on coverage of random punters in the crowd during game time and replays at critical moments. We don’t want to watch the match we want more irrelevant incidentals!

The coverage and commentary on BT sport was a fucking embarrassment as well. Absolutely fucking desperate for Arsenal to win. None stop Emery wankfest for 90 minutes.

Could the BT Sport cameras be more obsessed with Unai Emery's toothy mug? There's about four cameras tracking every gesture.

How many fucking times are BT gonna show that clapped vampire Unai Emery on my screen ffs

Shaq reminds me of Guy Goma when he's getting instructions before coming on. He just looks worried and a bit unsure!

Wtf are City fans doing on Redcafe?
There are fans from all over on there ... Dortmund, Milan, RM, Barca + PL and Championship clubs etc. etc. Get past the banter and it's good for looking in from the outside. And they are hilariously deluded at times. Never go to the United section, just stay in the general football forum (lots of Liverpool threads). I'm banned but still pop over a couple of days a week to read and balance opinion.
