Honestly, how long will they keep taking the piss with this new stadium?

Spurs. They've now rescheduled all their champions league games this year to Wembley, they want to play the cup game in Milton Keynes, and their game against City has been moved to a Monday due to Wembley already being booked, with other games having to move to fill the TV schedule. It's all getting beyond a joke right?

No problem with them playing their first few games away to allow time for it to finish, but playing half their home games at Wembley, half at construction park, isn't that specifically against the rules? Maybe that can be let to slide for one of two games if planned in advance, but forcing other teams to move their fixtures with only a few weeks notice, as a result of the gross incompetence in planning of Spurs staff is surely going to far?

They should be told to fuck off and play it behind close doors until the new stadium is ready in my opinion, I bet this ain't the last game to be moved.
[article]Tottenham's home Premier League match with Manchester City has been put back one day so it can be played at Wembley.

The match will now be played on Monday, 29 October as Wembley was unavailable on the Sunday because of an NFL game.

Spurs had hoped to host the champions at their new stadium, built on the site of the old White Hart Lane ground, but "safety issues" delayed its opening.

The club also confirmed that all three of their home Champions League group games will now be played at Wembley.

The change means Manchester United's home game with Everton is also delayed by a day, moving from Saturday lunchtime to replace Spurs v Man City as the live TV match at 16:00 GMT on 28 October.

"We should like to apologise to both our and Manchester City fans for this fixture having to be moved to a weekday evening and any inconvenience caused," a Spurs club statement read.
"Despite the possibility that our new stadium could be ready to host this match, this would not be known until much closer to the date of the game.

"We have therefore agreed with the Premier League that, in the interests of clarity and certainty, we shall confirm this game as taking place at this time at Wembley Stadium so that fans of both teams can now make travel arrangements accordingly."
Tottenham had been due to move into their new home in time for the league match with Liverpool on 15 September, but that match and one against Cardiff have already been moved to Wembley.

The north London club had already confirmed their first Champions League home game with Barcelona on 3 October would be played at the national stadium. Their remaining home matches in Group B, against PSV Eindhoven and Inter Milan, have now followed suit.
Chairman Daniel Levy said: "We are all focused on ensuring contractors deliver our new stadium in the shortest possible period of time and opening our stadium at the earliest opportunity.

"We are now being regularly updated on progress and as soon as we have confidence in our project managers' and contractors' ability to deliver against the revised schedule of works, we shall be able to issue dates for test events and the official opening game."

Meanwhile, Spurs will find out on Thursday whether they have got permission to host their Carabao Cup game with Watford at MK Dons later this month.

Mates with the FA innit.
Jews control everything.

Said it the other day, every game they can't play in the originally scheduled venue at the original time should be forfeit, because its not an foreseen circumstance, they're in breach of contract.

Alright guys, lets pack up and come back on the 15th.

I mean the stadiums delayed what do you expect them to do? Forfeit all their games?

Projects delayed and they are playing elsewhere.

Nothing else to be said on this subject.

Your hate for Spurs is funny but this is a nothing story really

Come on that’s a load of bollox. As if that would ever happen or should happen.

I dunno, do you ever see the effort that goes into organising the fixtures list? It's a complicated business, making sure that teams who are close neighbours aren't playing at home on the same day etc.

FA, already bent rules for them. Only allowed to play league home games in one stadium, but FA have made an exception. Make them play all their home games at Wembley I say. Sod the new stadium.

They're also asked EFL to play their rumberlows home game v Watford at stadium MK as Wembley is out of use.

The city game at Wembley has been moved 24 hrs to the Monday night now, in part for TV but also because on the Sunday as was scheduled their is a NFL game on at Wembley. Pitch is going to be awful 24hrs later.

No doubt but it is what it is. Project estimations in time are just that. There was always a strong possibility of delays

Well, they should have delayed opening their stadium until next year to make sure it was finished.

I'm chilled on this. It's clearly gonna cost them many tens of millions more. Hopefully it'll fuck them right up

Edit: just googled and it's gone from an original cost of 400m to an unknown amount north of a billion.

They might do a Leeds if Poch goes and they slide out the top four

The Milton Keynes bit is weird. I've heard plenty of Spurs fans say they won't go there, and Watford are similarly pissed off, and it's a shite stadium as well as a shite club - it's basically a cheap hotel with a football pitch on the side. Maybe they still have to do MK a favour after the Alli deal, but it's a lousy move if it goes ahead.

I expect them to put proper contingencies in place instead of being caught with their pants down. This is a multimillion pound business and they've basically winged it and hoped for the best, and now due to their lack of preparation everyone else is being fucked around to accommodate Spurs. I mean come on, it's hardly like construction delays are a rare occurrence, any respectable business would have planned contingencies, but not Spurs, they're expecting everyone else to clean their mess, they should be punished for that, not docking points or forfeiting games imo, but definitely playing behind closed doors, or only with away fans.

NOOOOOOOOOOO !!!! - First Brendan in the other thread implies something towards Modo/Mystic etc about more than normal hate for Spurs and now you come out with the mother load !!!!

It is strange though - all the fans of the other London clubs absolutely hate Spurs - I think two seasons ago in the charity shield between Arsenal and Chelsea both sets of fans were united in chanting their hate for Spurs.

But yeah - mates with the FA innit is more likely.

They have it’s called Wembley, bar a couple of games the rest are at Wembley.

Amazing how we managed to build a big fuck off stand and have no impact on us. Spurs have had a year and a half to get shit done and they're failing. I don't agree that they should be allowed to get away with tinkering with the fixture list like they have been.

No, did you read the article? They're having to move the dates of one game, and ask to play in a third stadium for one game because of the very reason that they didn't have Wembley avaliable and ready to use.

Excellent. Their players will also demand big pay rises soon, looking at a new stadium and imagining all the extra fans coming to see them, yeah they will definitely want some of the pie. Unbeknownst to them, interest payments come first, and interest rates are going to quadruple on the poor bastards.

I'm not that bothered, and like Woland says, if this costs them millions its all good gravy.

But it is a bit fishy that 3 years ago the FA were adamant that a team has to play all their PL fixtures in one stadium for a season, to keep a level playing field (sic) for opposing teams, and now they seem OK to allow them to tour North London and beyond

I'm hoping that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium becomes (or by the sound of things, continues to be) a massive money pit, with a succession of unpredictable, expensive, non-insurance covered calamities.

We must agree to differ. I got taken there and thought it was dire. It's like a Harvester with a big lawn.
Are you sure you weren't taken to Kenilworth Road? Which is a complete and utter shithole.

Fun fact.. MK Stadium is almost a replica of the Emirates stadium, therefore by default you are insulting two stadiums with one statement.

Stadium MK is decent ground, holds 30 thousand too, so definitely beyond the needs of a league two club and fit for a prem game.

So what? It's not its suitability, its the ticketing, travel and the fact that Spurs is a London club with an agreed opening date for their new stadium. They can't just waltz around the fucking M25 playing wherever they want and expect their own fans, and everyone else, to just go "yeah, fine".
