Another shit day at the office but i wanted to mention 3 things.
Firstly the ball from Torres to maxi (when Maxi showed unbelievable cowardice to not even attempt a shot) was one of the greatest passes ever.
Secondly Raul is class but wants to pack in the pointless 40 yarders. He isnt very good at it.

........wait the third one is that Maxi is a coward.
 
Babel would be better in all the situations you mentioned there
 
Maxi shows just how valuable that instinct in front of goal is. He chokes in front of goal all the time. You give him even just good finishing, and he'd be worth several times as much as he is. As it is, he's just one of a number of players we have that has a fatal flaw.

Do not agree, he took a few shots from far and came close on most occasions

Agree with this. He had another chance near the end and just panicked and blasted well over.
 
Disagree on Raul shooting from distance, with Stevie out its good to see somebody willing to have a pop and force the issue, your not going to score every goal from breaking down a defence and if teams keep backing off then it gives them something different to think about. Plus his shots from distance werent bad, certainly not in the Mascherano wild swings category

Maxi is indeed heartless, i can decide if the key factor is cowardice or lack of interest though, his finishing is appalling but he doesnt relly display any urgency in anything he does
 
Ming's shooting was off-target, but not miles away. We need that goal threat. At least he has a shot now and then.

And Maxi is an overpaid shithouse, which is what he has always been. We need a slow wide midfielder who doesn't score goals like we need Lucas.
 
Meireles is excellent at long range shooting. Did you not see his attempt in 80th minute or so??!!

Continue to shoot Raul, he'll get 5 goals from now to the end of the season.
 
He mayve been a shitcunt when through on goal but my god that reverse*? Pass by torres to maxi was pure sex.

The flick earlier on was fit too.

Are people getting confused with that one and the one right at the end of the first half where Maxi fell over like a beaut?
 
That miss by Maxi has really tainted his performance which is a shame. I thought Maxi had a fine game in the attacking third. Linked well with Torres and had a few efforts from the edge of the box. He scored a similar chance against Bolton by putting his foot through it. Don't know why he tried to round the keeper on this occassion.

Unfortunately his build up play around the box is all he adds, he has no pace, he doesnt so a decent shift defensively and as has been noted numerous times before the Spurs debacle he pisses himself everytime he gets near the goal

Why do we have so many players who have at least one flaw that makes them entirely unsuited to playing for a top team

Aye, I suddenly remembered this yesterday. Yeah quality bit of skill like, but then Maxi bottled it and fell over himself.
