Off the back of the Anelka thread, I thought I'd make a thread where you decide the punishment for a list of offences by players/crowd and see what the difference of opinion was:



Players:

Tackle in the box, person tackling is the last man:

Intentional elbow:

Raised hands (push to the chest/face/whatever):

Intentional studs up tackle (resulting in injury or not):

Abuse of another player ('you fat ginger cunt' 'I've fucked your 10yr old daughter' etc):

Racist abuse of another player:

Political statements (words, signs, tshirts etc):

Feigning injury:

Diving:



Crowd:


Insults towards nationality ('you Samoan twat'):

Insults towards ability/performance ('you useless lazy fucking cunt'):

Insult towards race:

Insult towards religion:

Insult towards physical appearance:

Insult towards family/loved ones (e.g 'your missus takes it up the arse' or 'haha your mom is dead' etc):

Insult towards historical event (e.g 'murderers' chants or plane crash signs/noises):




On the crowd part, I've left out whether it's 1 person, or 100 people. I guess that could be a discussion in itself, but presumably all people would get equal punishment (if any is decided).

I've tried to get a few controversial ones in there like Cantona, Keane, Suarez, Lampard, Beckham, Adam, Anelka etc.

Tackle in the box, person tackling is the last man: Yellow card & Penalty if no violent intent


Intentional elbow: Straight Red Card, and the resulting 3 match ban.



Raised hands (push to the chest/face/whatever): Yellow card, red at official's discretion



Intentional studs up tackle (resulting in injury or not): Depend on running lines; Head on & dirty - Straight Red, Alongside and accidental - Yellow card if appropriate.



Abuse of another player ('you fat ginger cunt' 'I've fucked your 10yr old daughter' etc): "Shut up you sissies and play some footy"



Racist abuse of another player: If heard, red card and logged with further action to be taken. If not heard, review of footage and potential same action (Ban, 8 games if proven, regardless of intent ie. should know better)



Political statements (words, signs, tshirts etc): Not on the pitch, end of. Even a lesser player can be of status to be heard, so if they really want to be they can do it away from the game. Breach of this would result in suspension.



Feigning injury: Time added on



Diving: Yellow card at official's discretion.







Crowd:





Insults towards nationality ('you Samoan twat'): Nothing, seriously what can you do on that, 90+% of it would be meant as descriptive rather than maliciously based on personal experience.



Insults towards ability/performance ('you useless lazy fucking cunt'): People are entitled to an opinion.



Insult towards race: Gestures, which should be able to be seen on camera in a modern ground, should result in a season ban (from offence) for first offence, second onwards resulting in a lifetime ban. Verbal, unless it's captured via recording it should be ignored unless multiple complaints are directed at somebody, in which case the same action (based upon testimonial evidence).



Insult towards religion: As above



Insult towards physical appearance: Ignore it.



Insult towards family/loved ones (e.g 'your missus takes it up the arse' or 'haha your mom is dead' etc): Ignore it.



Insult towards historical event (e.g 'murderers' chants or plane crash signs/noises): If able to be heard on tv, then a fine for club and warning towards future conduct of supporter's. If repeated, then scaling action including up to playing behind closed doors.
