So, with us seemingly "out" of the title race, and all that, is it time to start giving all the future players some minutes?

With little to lose, giving them game time in something other that the carling cup could do them the world of good.

thoughts?

I don't see how it changes things.

It's much easier to blood players into a successful team playing well, and in the current circumstances I think our first team need to stick together and get through this. Youth players will be relied upon in the upcoming years, because funds are getting tighter and tighter, but to give up on this season entirely is nonsensical. However bad things may seem right now, there's still a lot at stake.

That said, I'd like to see Peacheco (sp) get some more game time, as well as Kelly,

Hell no Fourth spot is crucial for us.

Is correct.

Now's not the time for kids unfortunately.

I can't remember when it was the 'time' for yoof with Liverpool ...

To a certain extent, now isn't the time to risk young players starting, though I think it is the time to gamble a little on a different approach.

But, given that we routinely are chasing games for a goal, how could it hurt us to have whatever attacking talent we can muster on the bench?

Now's the time to stay the course... because it's been working so well.

Given that we routinely are chasing losing games, how could it hurt us to have whatever attacking talent we can muster on the bench?

But me dear Master Fark, most of our individual talents are performing up to par. It's just the 'team' that isn't working. Dem yoof ain't da answer.

Throwing in some young players just to see if they can make it won't help. As has been said before, the best environment for youngsters is in a team playing well. We're not. Young players that still need confidence and development will get neither in our current first team.

If we had anyone in the reserves who was a superstar already and could come in and instantly change things around then that'd be different but I doubt we have anyone like that.

We need to re-shuffle a bit, that´s for sure. Send a couple of underperfomers straight to the stands for a few games, give the bench a few games and put a few youngsters on the bench. Oh..and replace Lucas with Gerrard until Aquilani is fit enough to start regulary.

I agree it's more imperative than ever to put the best side possible out.
As Ossi suggests though thr bench needs looking at, perhaps instead of having three full backs and a centre back, Pacheco and Eccleston, might have been an option

regards

I'd rather players like Pacheco, Eccleston, Dalle Valle, Amoo be given a chance then El Zhar, Babel etc who are clearly not good enough.

I´m afraid that list of EL Zhar, Babel etc would be even longer though...But I agree.
