Hmm, probably not, although I do really like him.

I'd rather we just moved on. He should go to one of the top teams in Italy, because he would be brilliant there.
 
They might be, but not he in them.
He will probably end up staying with Madrid, but if not Bilbao or us.

We sold him for something 30M+ if I remember. He has only been at RM for two seasons I think or is it 3 ? Can't remember now. Surely they would want a full return on that investment. I think he will stay at Madrid and is probably after a little more money. But in Europe he is the ultimate deep lying midfield controller.
 
If he wanted to come, would we come in for him? Player wise, would we find room? And he wouldn't fit the young player model favored by fsg either..

Totally agree. The more often I hear this, the more convinced I am that the future is far far away. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being good now.
 
Given his age I doubt we'd consider him on more than a one year contract, so he'd have to really really want to come.

Highly doubt this has legs.

1 year contract? He turns 31 this year.
I'd give him 3 year deal at least.

I know he don't want to prolong the deal with Real, but to come here on an ever shorter deal than he already has is unthinkable.
 
As unthinkable as a club trying to reduce the wage bill & age of the squad by offering a 31 year old player on huge wages a 3 year contract?

Like I said, it's not going to happen.

A 31 year old world class player. I would have but you're right the club won't.
