It might be time to start treating him seriously as a potential top-class manager. Maybe he’ll be the boss here some day.

Leverkusen have the 3rd youngest side (average age) in Bundesliga this season. And in this 3-2 win against M'gladbach, the oldest outfield player in the starting XI was 25, majority of the others were around 22. Guess his time managing Real Sociedad B helped him develop trust in young players. Formation wise, he's been using 3-4-3.

Spanish media claiming yesterday that he is being monitored as Ancelotti's potential successor.

On a sidenote, not all big names may be cut out for managerial role (not that this requires any reminder)

Honestly if Klopp for some reason leaves, gimme some Tuchel.
Fuck that Dutch cheerleader assistant we got.
I want quality and fucking ruthlessness.
It's time for a douchebag.

I could be persuaded, even if I think Tuchel looks like Gargamel from Smurfs or a second rate Bond villain.

Xabi is one who has carefully managed his career. He got what he wanted from us, and left for Madrid at the right time. Won a lot of trophies. He has good PR and can give interviews, making us all feel warm and fuzzy. But he is not going to come to us if he feels we are not ready to win major trophies. He is no Klopp, or for that matter Rafa who was willing to take a chance on us when we were down.

Fuck sentiment.

I'd happily take one of Pep's former players like Kompany instead. They seem to do well.

Off topic 😛:

Former Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani has already bested his trophy haul from when he was a player after winning his fifth trophy in just three years since taking charge of Fiorentina's Under 19s side.

Aquilani took charge in July 2020 and took just one month to claim his first piece of silverware in the form of the Coppa Italia Primeavera.

Two more followed as well as a Supercoppa Primavera and he has now captured a fifth.

Aquilani won his second Primavera Super Cup on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory over Inter Milan.

That means he has already passed the total number of trophies he lifted as a player (4).

Manager
  • Coppa Italia Primeavera x3 (2020, 2021, 2022)
  • Supercoppa Primavera x2 (2021 and 2022)

Bump in the road for Xabi and his men, was actually watching most parts of that game before switching over to Wrexham after I saw they'd taken the lead against Sheffield and actually thought Bayer were by far the better side....Dortmund were clinical in their minimal chances they created whereas Kobel was making save after save.

Bayern dropping points again, still expect them to win it comfortably but they've opened the door for a few of the sides below them to be in with a chance.
