Anita and the Doc are talking about different things anyway. Anita's referring to Alonso's penultimate season with LFC and the one before that, during which he most certainly did fall short of his own high standards. Even then I don't remember that "loads wanted him gone", more that a lot of people were a bit meh about it, and had every right to be. The Doc's talking about Alonso's departure at the end of his final season, when we absolutely didn't have a choice. Rightly or wrongly, Alonso's mind was made up.
