WWIII Return of the Ruskie

Did they ever respond? Or is Comrade Corbyn awaiting further instructions from the Kremlin before answering?

It's a bit odd that old Marxists like Corbyn still have a loyalty to Russia, even though it ceased to be Communist some 30 years ago. Russia is now run by a bunch of gangsters on the take. There's nothing remotely socialist about it.

Hear hear.

Havent the French and other leading EU & Nato nations already stated they've recieved regular updates and evidence from the UK govn concerning the attack or whatever .

Plus that Craig Murray is a textbook bellend.

Nostalgia. Or something.

I rex Putin did it, but seeing as he mostly just has people strangled I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that it was a personal vendetta or another state who did it.

And as for the agent being 5 times stronger than VX. Well... VX iced Kim's bro in minutes with a hankie to the mouth. These two are still alive. Sounds like a shit home made batch to me. Like them silly Aum Shinrikyo guys or whoever did that Sarin gas attack on the subway and monged it up.

It's all so fucking exciting.

We need another world war. Proper one. It's been ages and there's only so many times I can watch Band of Brothers and Tobruk and what not.

Agent COB has now said that he does think Russian is responsible, despite saying yesterday he wanted evidence, not to jump to conclusions and maybe it was the Ukraine?

I'm not sure what new evidence has come to light in the last 24 hours that Comrade Corbyn has been privy to, or maybe he's just changed his tune due to the outrage and backlash from across the political spectrum, including many of his own party.

Perhaps The Kremlin has delivered an update in a battered brown satchel on the mad old cunt's allotment, or sent a message via pigeon to Seumas Milne's sarcophagus

Well the frogs were saying they wanted evidence yesterday and now they're saying they're convinced, so obvs new shit has come to light.

I find the whole assassination attempt of the former Spy and his daughter thing a little strange. If the Russians wanted to kill him, there were lots of ways to do it without leaving such a clear calling-card that this was a state-sponsored assassination. Whoever killed him knew where he lived, so why not pay him a visit in his house, robbery gone wrong kind of thing, and then disappear into the night? People might still ask questions, but not to the degree they would when a fucking soviet manufactured nerve agent is used. It is obvious that someone, probably Putin, but not necessarily, wants to engineer serious friction between the U.K. and Russia. To what end is the question.
The end game is to send a message to potential spies. You're going to die horribly if you even think about betraying us. On our timeline. No matter what protection you think you might have.

Or maybe pressure of opinion, wide political and social condemnation from across the Western hemisphere, and re-evaluation of existing information, caused a change of mind.

I do find Russia's denial of everything very refreshing. It's almost like they've never done this before.

"We don't know what this Novichok is you speak of"

"Only the motherland speaks the truth.. Sometimes North Korea or Syria, but mainly just us".

Deary fucking me.

Nah, the frogs were the first to say they were in complete support of the UK a few days ago and before any other nation subject to them getting the full facts. Today they said they got them.

Simple, it's the money. Alt-left and alt-right parties are popping up all around Europe because of a steady stream of financing from Russia. Don't think the motivations were all that different during the USSR times either – there are always a few tools genuinely fooled by the ideology, but for most money is the primary motivator. If you keep bringing the fertilizer and apply it systematically year after year shit's gonna grow.

The democratic West has an inherent disadvantage here as their strategy of dealing with this changes with the political winds and almost every new government keeps trying to make a "reset" with Russia, whereas USSR/Russia has been doggedly pursuing pretty much the same strategy for the last century (with a short break after the collapse in the 90's).

Why would Russia act like this, and now? From what I read, they could have done this fella years ago, before trading him to the UK for the return of some Russian spies.

Could be the UK government wanting some political friction, both internally and externally.
The Corbyn is a Commie chants will give a special taste now. I found the overly aggressive tone of May a bit too strange.
Seems like a political ploy to me.

I agree with this, it is odd, doesn't make sense. With Litvenenko they spent 20mill just on the Polonium, which normally wouldn't have been detected and was only a bit of a fluke it was. With this guy, it was an absolutely messy, public, way of doing it. A bullet in the back of the head would have been far cheaper and cleaner, and not caught either (I presume this poisoning one, the people are long gone).
It smacks not of the state, but them either putting a contract up and someone doing it in this idiotic way, or, someone else getting involved who wants to stir shit with the Russians, and the Russians can't really do anything as they've no idea on it either and it's been made to look like them. I'm not saying it was them, but the yanks 'could' have easily pulled this one off front to back if they wanted to.

You have to ask yourself who benefits from this stir.
And, it is also strange how the evidence is still not produced.

The people who are thinking Corbyn is showing some sort of commie loyalty to Russia are utterly brainless. he (rightly) sees Russia as more of a right wing nationalist entity. I think his comments have been lacklustre, and playing into the hands of this ludicrous narrative though. This all needs intelligent U.S. leadership, a combined Europe and a strong U.K. government or Russia will continue to seed problems everywhere they can. Oops.

What I meant is I wouldn't doubt UK media loyal to the Tories trying to portray Corbyn as another left-wing socialist being cosy with Russia, not being patriotic or something in that vein.

There is as far as I have read no evidence to justify the statements and actions if the UK government in this case. On that basis, the way they have acted is quite astounding.

How are you doing in those Brexit negotiations again?

Good long read in Buzzfeed about the whole thing.

My main theory is that the acceleration of assassinations is Putin flexing his muscles to his opponents. "This is what happens during elections, do not oppose me".

Corbyn has always been cautious, I just do not trust him with national security. I don't seriously think he is a commie.

However I do think if we were attacked, he'd say "hang on.. Lets see who this is.. 99% likely you say? Well we can't retaliate based on 99%."

@doc.. See link. Ha.

I get that Corbyn is too much a pacisfist to deal with the psychopaths who lead our enemies and allies, I just wish the only other option wasn't Boris Fucking Johnson. What a fucking mess Westminster is in.

This..

Rock and hard place.

One newspaper reporting that the nerve agent was planted in the daughters suitcase.

Which makes the whole thing even more disturbing. Typical of Russia really, don't just wipe out the enemy but target their entire family. It's pure terrorism and typical cold war style tactics.

This is the big problem, nationally I think Corbyn is ok, he's good for the country in terms of infrastructure and social funding, student support, the NHS etc. But these times require someone with a backbone and leadership to handle both Brexit and the global simmering threat. His persona doesn't really seem like it would translate well to the International stage or dealing with fuckheads like Trump and Putin. While Boris is just Trump in a different wig, another fuckhead who's one tweet away from causing an international crisis.

Imagine these twats being in charge during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Well I think Twitter is on the critical path of the Fermi Paradox.

At least international diplomacy used to rely on pigeons and phonecalls and stuff.

Hahaha. You fucking clown

Mate. Russia are pissed Musk shot his Tesla up there.

Space races always combine with diplomatic standoffs. I can't wait to see the Wacky Space Races in action.

Anyway. Russia is Russia like. A strong percentage of the elected in the UK are just pure cunts. One is a carefully curated hierarchy based on stolen assets. And the other is Russia.

I don't really give a fuck.
