The Guardian now report:
Crystal Palace are poised to win the race for Max Meyer after holding productive talks with the former Schalke midfielder.
The arrival of Meyer, who is due to have a medical on Tuesday, would be a significant boost for Roy Hodgson as he looks to improve his squad before the new Premier League campaign.
If we cant get him, I am glad one of our previous managers can. Always good to see them go on to be successful beyond Anfield. Well done Roy, old manThe Guardian now report:

If he tears up the league they'll be laughing in 12 months when a large bid comes in
He won't though. Palace is his level. If he tears up the league they'll be laughing in 12 months when a large bid comes in
He seems very much money orientated rather than caring about his football career. So 8m a year over 3 years gets him 24m....set for life.Putting the money to one side, he's probably right to not to move to clubs like us or Barca at this stage.
They're just going after a bargain and he'll find himself on the bench too often.
He should've played the long game and tried to get himself to a club like Roma or Sevilla (or not been a cunt and matured at Schalke).
Who knows though, maybe he'll impress at Crystal Palace and it'll all pay off. Risky to gamble your career on a big contract for a couple years.
Seem to be working for Ruben Neves at Wolves.
No Neves move has agent manipulation written all over it. However, I do believe that, just like Meyer, his intent was to earn himself a deal with a bigger club by proving himself at a lower team. Meyer only signed a 3 year deal. Was that a comparable move?
Seemed like Neves was just following orders.

Given hes already signed for Palace im not sure giving him 10m quid will serve much purpose for us.I don't quite get this. He wants £170k pw. We apparently are not willing to give that because it will be Salah level pay. But he is on a free, not 30odd million like what Salah had cost.
Give him 10m or so upfront, ask him to drop his demands to something reasonable like £85k pw, it will all be P&C and everyone will be happier for it.
That is if Klopp really wants him.
