That was an amazingly boring final, I literally fell asleep for 20 min. in the second half. I can't believe it!

YOu think this was bad?

The West Germany-Argentina final in 1990 was much worse.

They are never great though.

I like how they described Heitinga as ONLY the 5th player to be sent off in world cup finals. There's been what 19? 20? 5 out of that is quite often really! compare that to FA Cup finals - 2 out of over a hundred!

Shit final, every Spain match was incredibly boring. There were about 14 notable incidents in their entire campaign. The Ulysses of football.

Paul the World Cup-predicting octopus is to retire.

He correctly predicted the outcome of as many World Cup matches as he has legs - all seven of Germany’s games plus the Spain-Netherlands final.

But a spokeswoman at Germany’s Oberhausen Sea Life aquarium said today he will “go into retirement and do what he likes to do best: play with his handlers and delight children who come visit to him.â€

Paul won worldwide attention as he called all of Germany’s games right - including its semi-final defeat by Spain. He crowned his career by forecasting correctly that Spain would beat Holland in yesterday’s final.
