Pumped for the World Cup, absolutely love it and have done since Italia 90.

Saw this tribute song to Zidane today and it got me looking back at some classics from yesteryear.

What are everyone's favourites?

‘82 World Cup was great for many reasons- and great WC is among them.

Norn Iron’s “When Yer Man Gets the Ball” is a classic, including local legend Dana and a hint of the flutes & drums so beloved by many in the north.

That, however, can not compete with the epic musical genius of Scotland’s “We Have a Dream”... John Gordon Sinclair, BA Robertson, bagpipes and a controversial penalty...

Unfortunately England, despite releasing a desperate Double A single with “This Time (More than Any Other Time)” and “Flying the Flag”, could only cobble together with the former sounding something like the theme tune to Worzel Gummidge and the latter being a cross between Terrahawks and The Littlest Hobo.

Wales and the Republic of Ireland, as always, were completely irrelevant.
