Winter break agreed after FA Cup move.
The FA, Premier League, Football League (EFL) are understood to have reached an agreement for a annual two week break in early February, beginning from the 2019/20 season.
The 5th round of the FA Cup will be played midweek without replays.

Good news! Finally some sense shown which will probably improve the results in Europe as well.

I actually think this is a bit unfair on the lower league clubs in the FA cup. Say they earn a draw at home against one of the big boys, there's no replay at the bigger grounds or share of the larger gate receipts. That money could make a difference to those clubs.

I see your point, although a fair few lower league clubs that are either striving for promotion or staving off relegation put out weakened teams anyway.

Disagree. January is long enough as it is, so without Premiership footie to get through the long dark days it would be a right marathon to endure..
They should swap February and January around so that the most miserable month of the year is also the shortest.

If there's a winter break, I'd accept February ahead of ruining the glorious Festive fixture list clusterfuck. I love that.

Since we're talking about gimmicks, how about an All-Star game? Would you like to see something like that tried in England?

Townsend has tried to throw it away there with that defence.

Fucking stones and Coleman?
