Wimbledon

Tsonga ... Wow ... Federer isn't what he used to be, but he's still one of the game's best and to beat him after being down 2-0? Has that ever happened?

wow. That is impressive. I wonder if Tsonga is about to take the next step up as a player?

He has been threatening for a while.

He has definitely got game.

Federer gave up the net, and Tsonga gladly took it from him. A bit perplexing, as Federer looked like his confidence was returning prior to this match. Pity, because I don't fancy Tsonga putting another performance like that in. You never know, though.

and fuck me, how similar is Tsonga's game to Safin's, especially whatever he does off the back-hand is carbon copy. He only needs to break a few (ok a lot more) racquets to complete the resemblance.

1 set each between Nadal and Murray. 2-1 Nadal in the 3rd set.

Nadal turning it up a gear now.

Those sessions with Haye must have helped Murray. He was smashing him in the second and then missed a sitter in the second and just crumbled.

He played like a boxer who'd been paid to take a fall.

Absolutely capitulated after losing a couple of big points.

It will take something special to stop him in this form.

He has clearly stepped up his game to Nadal/Federer's level this year.

It's not just his ability to up his own game and pick himself up, it's also the fact that breaks the mentality of the opposition player. I'm not a massive tennis fan bit watching this n the Murray match has been brilliant

What a great tournament and congratulations to Novak for making the big two a big three. I expect Del Potro to be right up there with them over the next couple of years and if Murray can raise his game a little more then men's tennis has got a lot to look forward to.

Well it seems Y1 owned this thread 😉

I was at Centre Court watching the Murray v Ljubicic game, I was one of a handful cheering Ivan on.
I just can't take to Murray at all, that I I drove Ivan from Liverpool to Nottingham once so I have a soft spot for him....

Did I mention the time I had Novak Djokovic sitting outside my house when I went to find some nasal strips for him 😉

regards

So VQ treats and fetch tennis stars before they became champions!

Lubijcic next!
