Will you still hate him - when he's gone?

I was thinking, from a footballing perspective, it will be really a pleasure to watch that 'ex-slimy cunt' Ronaldo playing in Spain.

I will actually be excited to see some of his outrageous skill terrorizing those slug-slow Spanish defences - as opposed to praying he doesn't send in a last minute cross to slot home yet another Scum winner.

Anyone else ready to forgive and forget? After all, he did us a lovely favor by screwing the Scum.

'Our Ronnie' is no longer a slimy cunt, he's probably the best footballer on the planet.

I will now sort of enjoy watching some of his moments yes.

But the playacting still disgusts me as well as throwing the arms up etc..

Yes.

He's just swapped a team of cunts in England for a team of cunts in Spain. And he could move to the moon - he'd still be a cunt.

He plays for Madrid, of course I still hate him.

Plus he's still a slimey, moany, cheating little git.

I'd still hate him.

I don't hate him because he does well for United - if it wasn't him it'd be someone else - and I don't automatically hate all United players for life but Ronaldo is very easy to hate regardless of who he plays for.

Obviously if he played for us I'd be delighted because he is fantastic but I don't think I would exactly warm to him!

Your Ronnie you mean?

We got the best player on the planet here he's 'our Stevie'
Ha....there's always one.

And Stevie is not the best player on the planet.

*awaits the pending Messi-ites to rampage through the forum gates*

I didn't always hate him at United; sometimes you have to put everything aside and admire pure footballing talent. That goal he scored in the CL against Porto, for instance, would have made even the most die-hard of Reds go "wow", and it's the same with that Rooney volley against Newcastle.

I'll carry on hating him but carry on appreciating him - although now it won't be through clenched teeth.

Not much change really.

Still a cunt!!!
I follow Barca when i watch La Liga, so he will always be a cunt to me!!!
x2, therefore I alwasy hope Real don't do well. However, I would probably dislike ronaldo the player less as he has left the scum - as a person he seems to be a bit of a twat.

Gerrard is the best possible player for Liverpool Football Club which goes above and beyond any 'Best Player in the World' tag.

Messi wouldn't have done half of what Stevie's delivered.

Don't get me wrong, as I've said a hundred times on this forum, I will always hate Madrid for their hideous gamesmanship and dirty tactics, but Ronaldo, meh.....gotta appreciate his talent even if he's a prima donna twat.

Most Hated (and I mean the word literally):

1) Scum
2) Madrid
3) Boro - dunno why, it's just a shithole and we always (seem to /used to) trip up against them.

I continued hating baby David after he went to RM, and still do now. Cant see any reason for a different approach with your ronnie

First thing that came out of my mouth was "Cunt!"

Tbh, I think even that is underselling Gerrard. His dribbling and close control are not in Messi or Ronaldo's class, but he can do many things that they can't. Club bias aside, I seriously think Stevie has a claim to be the best player on the planet at the moment.

Yeah, you're probably right although is wasn't intentional

If he and Torres both have full-seasons, I think the media will start paying them more attention in that respect.

x2

Him being a cunt never bothered me at all, its what makes him the player he is, and I find it quite amusing at times that he totally disregards what anyone thinks about him, and that he'll continue for instance doing cuntish things like wearing stupid skin tight clothes and remain on holiday whilst he is the subject of an £80m world record transfer.

His ability to pluck something out of nothing for United made me dislike him more than anything else, it'll be fine seeing him rip it up in Spain, and United fans crying that he should've been theres (oh and making em like a feeder club to Madrid every time he headlines too).

CL Semi Final 09/10

Manchester United 0-1 Real Madrid (Ronaldo 129'), Agg 0-1

..and then we take the cunts in the final, there we have it.

What maddened me more than him was the fact that he was being made to look better than he was by naive defenders. When there were plenty of tricky wingers in the game, defenders knew how to deal with them - and they concentrated on the ball and not the feet. Nowadays they seem to be dazzled by every step-over and feint, then collapse in a heap as the 'magician' skips past. I know he's got quick feet, but some defenders just gazed at his ankles and went into a daze. I'm convinced someone like Lawrenson, Thompson or Nicol would rarely have been caught by him. They were too cool and shrewd. That's not to deny the player has a big talent, but some of the hype really has been farcical. Anyway, will I miss the winking mincer? Nope.

I never liked watching him play.

He's an effective player but when it comes to the beautiful game its players like Zidane, Ronaldihno, Valeron who exhibit the sort of deft touches and vision that only geniuses do.

Ronaldo? pppprffffftt......

i think some on this thread are seriously underplaying the ability of ronaldo - he would be considered world class irrespective of eras. His style of play is very direct and his ability to exploit space and score goals in exceptional.

I'm an OTT, so that 'local' aspect isn't really valid in my case.

My despising of the Blueshite was more valid in the 80's, when they were considered a footballing force.

I've been to 4 derbies, my first at Wembley in '84 but that football 'hatred' was never there.

If you compare and contrast the 'hatred' felt when I have attended the Scum games over the past 20 years......well, it's just on a different planet.

oh come on.....his ability to run with the ball at breathtaking speed and deft control is what makes him the player he is. He's fuckn deadly.

You would cream your pants if he was a Liverpool player.

Not to mention he's 23 years old ffs. Zidane was approaching late 20's before he began to show his utter class.

Precisely. He's effective in dribbling at pace and shooting really fucking hard. As i have said, he's effective. I don't get overwhelmed when i see him sprinting pass another full back after doing 2 stepovers.

However, i appreciate players who the have vision and skill, not just the pace, in their armoury. Riquelme is another example of players who i think are a joy to watch.

Ronaldo will never change his way of playing because he is so good at doing what he's already doing and i don't think he has the capacity or vision to become a John barnes or Giggs.

Can't believe I'm defending Ronaldo here and but it terms of direct effectiveness none of the players mentioned, despite their moments of artistry, had a season like Ronaldo's in 07/08.

Whatever you think of him, he deserves to be mentioned alongside the worlds best of past and present because he's a truly devastating footballer.

I'm not attacking the greasy shithouse. He's a great player when we look at his end-product. Highly efficient like a nike sweat shop. I just don't enjoy watching Ronaldo play regardless of who he's playing for.

Put it this way. If Ronaldo doesn't score, he basically is awful to watch.

I would miss Fabregas more than Ronaldo if he were to leave.

The campness of his free kicks makes it hard to take him seriously, in spite of his ability. He's like an eight year old who's just seen a sci-fi movie and thinks he might have special powers (rather than needs).

The only thing I will enjoy about watching the cunt now is watching Kaka outshine him every night they play together.
Unfortunately, I can't see that being the case. Ronaldo will continue to be devastatingly good. And I will continue to hate him.
