[article]There’s a new transfer rumour in Bild on Wednesday linking Liverpool with a Bundesliga keeper.

According to the German tabloid, Jurgen Klopp wants to sign 22-year-old Cologne keeper Timo Horn

Horn is under contract with Cologne until 2019, so prising the keeper away from Germany won’t come cheap for Liverpool.

That being the case, the Anfielders are being asked to pay 9 million euros to get the deal done, as per the player’s release clause.

Bild seem to indicate that Liverpool believe they’ll sign Horn, although it’s unclear if that signing could happen this January or only at the end of the season.[/article]

I liked this part. He won't come cheap and then they quote 9 million euro. Sure didn't Mingolet cost 11 million? I'd be happy to pay €9 million to replace him.

You are lucky it sounds fuck all like Muse otherwise I would have had to report you to the authorities.

Despite the things Mignolet doesn't do well, he's usually very good on his line and would probably pull off the saves in that video above. What's this guy like in the areas Mignolet isn't strong on - commanding his area, coming for the high ball, distribution?

You're right Mignolet can pull off saves every bit as good as the ones in the video above so Horn needs to be better at the things Mignolet is shit at. The distribution thing for me is more about getting the team attacking sooner than we are at present not really about us conceding goals (although he's given us a few scares) as Mignolet hasn't cost us very many goals with his distribution. It would help however if we had a goalie who didn't constantly put our own players under pressure by giving them the ball with someone right up their arse. Our defenders and midfielders have done pretty well at minimising the effects of Mignolets poor judgement.
I think it's essential that the next goalie we get commands his area well as we are such a diminutive team for the most part and we have to have a goalie who will make up for our lack of height by coming for more crosses (especially at set pieces).
I have no idea whether Horn has the qualities our present goalie lacks as i haven't seen him play.

You know that Martin O'Neil is trying to get him to pledge allegiance to the ROI squad. When asked in an interview he said "Tim O'Horn is a solid Irish name, so I am sure he qualifies and can be a good alternative to Darren Randolph"

Watched him on the weekend v Leverkusen and he impressed, good GK who commands his area, also a bit of the sweeper type of player about him (there was a ball that was played out wide to Bellerabi where the Koln defence was high and broken and he read it beautifully to come and clear towards the wing area. Commands his box and has good distribution. €9mill is quite cheap for him.

Well, our female fans would be happy. They will all sing.....
