Jay Spearing or Joe Allen

We could of saved 15 million quid and not sent Jay Spearing out on loan..

Another below par performance from him again against Zenit..

WTF has happened to him.. ?

To be fair to FSG the amount they've spent in transfers since they arrived for the return they have got is absolutely shocking.

Not entirly, my point is he has been so poor for a while now we probably would get a better return from Spearo...

On current form it seems a waste of 15 million if you ask me.. or am I completely missing something ?

We keep hearing that Allen's best position is further forward but that begs the question - why the fk did we buy him?

Fair enough, Lucas was out so he had to cover that position but given that his game has gone to shit we probably would have been better with Jay, at least he could tackle.
 
I think he's tired and being played out of position. He should have played against WBA and not Lucas, and Lucas should have played against Zenit and not him.

Yea in fairness to him, myself and probably many others forget he's young and just did a full PL season followed by olympics followed by a move to Liverpool. Tough year.

He's played fuck all the last month or so.

He's played in both a defensive and more advanced position in midfield as well.

The excuses are running out, he looks increasingly out his depth.

£15m? fucking hell Rodgers.
 
Allen in the long run will be great for us. He was very good for us initially. No idea what has happened to him. I've no interest in comparing him to Jay at all Jono. Allen has way more talent and I fully expect him to show it to us.

Before anyone asks, no I don't know why he isn't showing his talent at the mo. I do believe it is there though.
 
What is it exactly that Joe Allen is going to be 'great' at anyway? I can't seem to spot what his killer attributes are, or will be when he settles down and finds his form.
 
Allen came in with Rodgers, and we very much chased Sigurdsson as well. I don´t know if Gylfi is injured or something, but the combination has done fuck all the whole season for their respective clubs.

I have to agree, yes the talent is there.. but Henderson looks a far better proposition at the moment.. I just dont know where the 'welsh Xavi' is suppose to fit into this team

Bad Managment. ? Im not sure if Rodgers knows what to do with him..

Hendo was awful last season, he is only now some signs he maybe a decent signing.

The guy has talent, maybe he needs time (which we don't have/give) to show his potential.
 
New young player in needing time to adapt shocker.
Look at Hendo and Downing, it took them a year.

Allen was very good at the start of the season. Had played football for 2 years without a break and got overplayed due to Lucas injury. Is now struggeling to find his form and confidence again, but will be a great player for us.

The lack of confidence is key here though. Stepping up to play for a club like ours can take time to adjust to the demands and spotlight that follows.

He's 22 and needs to be given time. Its quite simple.
 
Allen had a few ok games, but has been poor for 4 months now. Stop making excuses for him. He s a marquee signing for Rodgers, and has been a major let down for him. Suarez has kept going for 3 years now, with no break, and they are in the same price range.

We can use Sahin also as an example. he was an instant success and scored three goals in his first games (Allen has a half so far). He didn't get any time.
 
This talent he has is not tangible, i.e. its not pace, or stamina, or balance, skills, a powerful shot, strenght and size. None of that. The reason his talent is not showing is because it was all in his head and the way he made correct decisions and was relaxed on the ball.

He's come here and been mentally broken and become a fearful shadow of himself. If he is mentally weak...which he seems to be....then his talent is sadly non-existent now.

...and yet they were both very good last season for Swansea. So either they're both having a dip in form, struggling to adapt to new surroundings/systems or what?
 
This is the weirdest thing: whilst Rodgers keeps inspiring indefinite faith, the poor players - Allen, Shelvey, Borini, Coutinho etc - are given about five damn minutes!
