Who's the best player in the league?

Bit of a fanciful thread, but fuck it.

Aguero? Yaya Toure? Hazard? Fabregas? Sanchez? Rooney maybe?

I'm gonna stick with David Silva. My favourite footballer on the planet, and I don't think there's another player in this league quite like him. He's fucking mesmerising.

Could hear a pretty decent argument for Aguero though I guess.

Aguero for me.
City would be down where we are only for his goals.
His minutes/goals ratio in the league is extraordinary too.

I'll plump for Kun Aguero. I'm a huuuuuge David Silva fan. I have been a fan since his days at Valencia but I cannot pick him over Aguero.

I remember telling you that you'd love him Ryan. He is definitely your type of player.

I also remember Brendan stating that Silva wouldn't make it in England. He was too slow and 'Garcia without the goals' if I recall correctly.

As much as I despise him, Terry doesn't get mentioned in these threads as much as he should. Prob not the best but a massive contender.

Overall it is prob Aguero.

Great shout re Terry. He's the best centre back in world football for me.

Yup.

I watch all Man City's games just to see him play Dave. He's an outstandingly gifted footballer, and yet still underrated too.

I don't think he's underrated any more Ryan. Everyone is well aware of his insane ability. He's beautiful to watch.

It's surprises me that Silva and Aguero are still at City, given both are too good to be playing in sides that are not competitive in the Champions League.

Silva is amazing. Phenomenally talented. I don't think there's a more intelligent player around, but has to be aguero for me. Averaging over a goal a game in the league this year and he just single-handedly kept city in the cl. He's fucking amazing.

Fabergas for me.

Sergio is by far the best striker now that Suarez has left.

Shame he wasn't fully fit for the world cup.

Suarez. But fuck it, i'd say Costa. New league. New team mates. New club. Been out injured a couple of games and still scored 11 goals in 10 games. Just how fucking good is that??

Goals win you games and he certainly is the reason why Chelsea up top now.

50 goals last season in La Liga, 36 goals the season before and now 11 goals already. Brilliant striker.

It's Silva for me and Aguero would be awfully close.

That said, he doesn't look as good, doesn't appear to have the mesmerising ability but Costa is probably the best in the league at fulfilling the purpose of football - putting the ball in the net. I doubt Jose would swap him for anyone.

I'm sure he's not in the same class but every time I see him I can't get over how good Navas is at RB for City. Pace, great touch, positional sense. He's the best RB in the league for mine - by some distance.

You mean Zabaleta, mate? Yeah, great player.

I'd rather play City without Silva than without Aguero. Both huge threats, of course, but you need about three players to try to track Silva's movement.

Aguero's no slouch either when it comes to movement though I agree - not Silva level.

What makes Aguero so special is that he doesn't waste chances. He literally only got three chances in that game and put them all away.

Silva would still be my pick - he makes other players look good. But he can also look ordinary when those in front of him offer no movement. Maybe not ordinary but certainly far less effectual.

Terry's a good shout, so is Costa, the latter because he's just unplayable at the minute. I do really like Aguero though, it's only his injury record that's holding him back from being up there with Suarez. I agree about Silva making them tick though.

It's very hard to make a case for a goalie in such "polls" but De Gea is one of the best and is the best keeper (ahead of Courtois). I'll go for Aguero too.
