After watching the full conference on .tv, I have to say I'm pretty reassured about a number of things. Assuming we aren't being told bare-faced lies (which for several of these we couldn't be because we'd find out the truth far too quickly) it's actually not all doom and gloom.

1. The owners can't veto the sale of the club if a bidder is chosen
2. Bidding hasn't opened yet so no bids are expected until mid July, when the "first round" of bids starts
3. The idea isn't just to sell to the highest bidder. A bid is also rated on potential for ground and squad development.
4. Broughton stated that they won't be selling the players to pay back the debt and that if anyone is sold the money goes back into the squad... if this had been all he said I would have been sceptical, but among the other things it made sense that this would be true too - it looks like they aren't expected to provide money to the banks immediately ... only time will tell for sure, but I think he said too much stuff that he'll quickly be found out for if he was lying
5. Kenny's first choice was Hodgson, although he wanted the job for himself (and we can guess because of what his son said that he felt he was the best man for the job) but they did take his advice when it came to the available candidates

Finished watching it a few minutes ago.

I'm still somewhat sceptical about some of the points you mentioned, but I think the picture is nowhere near as bleak as SoS would have us believe.

One more point I forgot is that Broughtton felt that Dalglish's value to the club would be by developing his current roleand him working closely with Roy, who he has a good relationship with. The exact meaning of this (the development of it) has to be worked out but I think it sounds promising.

Which bits are you sceptical about?

All those points seem right, although number 2 it seems that it's not that it's not 'opened' as such yet, more that they haven't had (or expected) any yet,

Fair enough, I should have said that.

EDIT: but I'm sure the way he put it led me to believe there was some sort of date set for bidding to start. As though they'd said "here's the info, potential investors, and you've got x weeks to prepare your bids"
