Im after some advice, in relation to the planes, Trains thread.
Basically I am moving location with work soon (from 9 mile journey to 50 mile journey each way) and its going to cost a fucking fortune. Petty is a bitch these days.
Anyway, I was talking to a couple of people recently about it and both seperately said I should get a motorbike. That it is super economical and obviously easier in traffic etc.
I used to ride when i was a kid (just shitty 125cc Yamaha) and im fine on a bike but i dont see how it can be cheaper?
Does anyone here commute by bike? Nothing silly like just 100-250cc.
Do you pay tax for a bike the same as a car? Do you get better fuel economy?
My biggest problem is that I will have to keep a car because of the school run and stuff, so the difference in running costs would have to be significant, in order for me to run a bike and a tiny car (under 1ltr) as opposed to my 1.4 car that is realistically goin to cost me 25-30 a day to travel in.
